An impression of one of my Mom's garden dahlias as if by Blue Moonglow, created in Adobe Photoshop CS3.
I made this from a photo just below, intending it to be a page header, but I couldn't get the aspect ratio right and kept getting that annoying head shake from Flickr, with no explanations, so I gave up.
I like the almost Japanese print look imparted to it by the color and line, though, so I'm posting it despite its strange shape. You will notice that the shark is gone. I apologize for that little deception, which did not belong in this image.

I'm really happy with this outcome. And the idea :) I got super stressed out while photoshopping it, but I think it was well worth it.

Quick snaps from Manor House B.
Blog post and see it bigger.
Thanks to Jerry Jones for the texture.
This is a reworking of an image appearing previously in my photostream. I have made the sky more dramatic and added the figures wearing cassocks by the door. I have tweaked the whole thing to integrate the changes and to give the image a more painterly look. I have added a wonderful texture by Brenda Starr, Thanks, Brenda.
222/365. Setting the table for Sunday dinner was almost impossible thanks to the mischievous poltergeist in our apartment...

These 9 kaleidoscope images were created online with jbum's new online toy, an application to create kaleidoscope images from an uploaded photo. I used my favorite camera-toss style photo of Christmas lights from the series posted on Sunday this week. See this link for the original photo used. And then see this link to the online application at KrazyDad.com and this link to the Mini-Kaleid group pool on flickr. Thanks to Brenda Anderson for sharing her image and her links to this technique. And, as always, a big THANK YOU to jbum!
This is photo manipulated picture, created for the Flickr Downunder Challenge.

The pretty serving girl has set the table for supper and awaits the arrival of the master of the house. The table is laden with scrumptious treats, so go easy on the mutton; save a little space for dessert.
Alas, the fruit is wax, the cakes are plaster, the flowers are cloth, and the girl (sigh) is a mannequin. I saw this excellent display at the Topsham Museum in Exeter, Devonshire, UK in 2002, but only just got around to processing it. The cool air return grate in the center of the picture is a spoiler, and the girl needs to have her thyroid checked, judging by the exophthalmos (bug-eyed stare).
another 'amazing circle' transformation, inserting the circles derived from the base image back into the image, and manipulated to simulate 'blueglass' globes, in this case.
I followed the procedure, first, as outlined here: brilliantdays.com/archives/2005/10/how_to_create_a.php ,
and in the flickr Amazing Circles group: www.flickr.com/groups/amazingcircles/discuss/116859/
I Am using the basic wondrous polar coordinates transformations as beautiful in and of themselves, but also as starting points for grounding them in their origins and/or creating new relationships for them.
Another of my old favourite composites given a REDUX facelift and a bit of a colour shift.
The finished version is HERE

Image Manipulation:
In the dark of night one can find things not able to be seen in the bright light of day. Tonight a waterfront bathed in the glow of civilization. Each night is different, if you're the adventurous type.
I sort of consider image manipulation to be just a bit more than a filter or enhancing, this taken a bit farther. For me I guess it is no clearly drawn line, just to note it.
Personal creation.
