July 15, 2008 - ICON Aircraft achieved an important milestone with a successful maiden test flight of the ICON A5 amphibious sport plane. ICON's team of engineers completed the full-scale prototype flight on Wednesday, July 9 at an undisclosed lake in California.

My close friend is a Professor of Theology and is writing a book about religious icons. She asked me if I would photograph the icons, from her personal collection, for the book. This is one of many that she has selected. They are fascinating in their design and symbolism. I am learning so much about the icons but also about photographing them. Some have reflective surfaces, some are framed under glass, and some, like this metallic icon in a wood frame are a real challenge!
I am quite honored that she asked me to help her with this most personal project.

I saw this tutorial on how to make Buddie icons so I checked it out but it wasn't an Inkscape one. . .but I tried to copy it as much as I could and this is what I got. I don't like the body part I just really don't. I think the head came out alright though. *shrugs*

Like one or two others as I've mentioned elsewhere; this icon follows on from the Apple iPhone stylings.
As Tiles is going to be an Apple application dealing with media related files I want it feel that it is 'at home' with Apple's other products.
The icon work should have or give a sense of familiarity as it will have been seen by a good proportion of Apple users. I think things like this help build a kind of trust with the users of your UI.
