"Do Capitalismo Industrial ao Capitalismo Cognitivo" foi uma intervenção produzida pelos designers Francisco Arlindo Alves e Rodrigo Silveira para o SESC Ribeirão Preto em 2010, num painel de 1,60 metros de altura e 7,40 de largura. Com a utilização da técnica halftone, as imagens são decompostas em uma infinidade de pontos que são substituídos por ícones.

 

Os variados tipos de interconexões e configurações entre ícones e as imagens como um todo buscam representar imageticamente as conceituações descritas por autores como Giuseppe Cocco, Gilvan Vilarim (2009)* e Antonio Negri (2004)** que relatam uma reorganização do mundo produtivo resultante que consiste na passagem de um capitalismo industrial para um capitalismo cognitivo.

AUTORES:

 

Francisco Arlindo Alves é mestre em design. Tem exibido trabalhos de arte e tecnologia em exposições como o Media Art Friesland (Holanda), a WEB3DART no Web3D Symposium (Inglaterra) e o FILE - Electronic Language International Festival (São Paulo).

 

Rodrigo Silveira é designer gráfico. Foi premiado na Bienal de Design Gráfico e Prêmio Abril de Jornalismo e teve trabalhos publicados em coletâneas das editoras alemãs Taschen e Die Gestalten. É um dos criadores do coletivo Instituto.

Here's an answer to my question from iconographer Aidan Hart:

 

"The story in short is that the son of a devout lady was taken prisoner, I think by a Saracen, and made a slave. She prayed to St George for his return , and in due course, while the son was serving his master at table, St George took him up and returned him home, still holding the flagon of wine (sometimes a goblet, with wine unspilt)."

Time to fight the html demons.

Issued wrong icon by mistake in iOS update yesterday

Icon Brickell condominiums and Viceroy Hotel and Residences, on Miami's Brickell Avenue at the Miami River, in the heart of Miami's business district. Bult by developer, Jorge Perez with a design conceived by Philippe Starck, the development's architect was Arquitectonica, the the designer is Kelly Wearstler. The infinity pool, is 300 foot long, the longest in florida.

Decided to make an overview with the final versions of all my .hvif icons so far. That means it has Haiku icons as well as webOS icons.

Note: the Facebook icon is missing, because its .hvif it doesn't display as an icon (technical glitch in Icon-O-Matic). This screenshot was made in Haiku and pasting the .png version of the Facebook icon onto it was just too much trouble...

This is Icon Norfolk Apartments at 321 E Main St, Norfolk, VA.

 

This building was built in 1967 as the headquarters for Virginia National Bank. It later became headquarters for Sovran Bank, and later became the regional office for Bank of America. After Bank of America moved, the building was remodeled into luxury apartments.

 

The Sovran labelscar is still visible behind the ICON branding.
