The Smile on Saturday theme is ORANGE! For those of us who have been teachers or parents or artists, this is a well known staple in the creative kit!

There are four orange possibilities in the photostream along with a collage of the four.

The Empire State Building and food vendors seen on a side street are an iconic sight in midtown Manhattan.

The Flying Scotsman and the Ribblehead Viaduct - an iconic combination.

A peaceful time in the Yorkshire Dales with this sight as a bonus.

The famous lone tree of Llyn Padarn, Snowdonia.

The Flying Scotsman crossing the Forth Rail Bridge. Its not often that 2 icons of British Engineering come together like this.

I'll bet these are two of the most photographed building in the Old Town area of Stockholm. This is my version. Severely straightened and processed with textures.

One of the most popular sport climbing features at Smith Rock. Photo taken along Misery Ridge, another iconic feature at Smith, on a summer afternoon. Crooked River makes an oxbow bend around the park.

I posted this photo awhile back then thought it needed a bit more touch. Thanks so much for stopping by! Always appreciated!

Have a great weekend!

Hagia Sophia is a former Christian patriarchal basilica, which later became an imperial mosque and now a museum. One of the world's most iconic buildings.

An early morning image of the iconic T.A. Moulton barn in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming USA. with the majestic Teton mountain range in the background. The barn is all that remains of the homestead which T.A. Mouton and his sons built between 1912 and 1945. This is said to be the most photographed barn in the USA, and the reason why is pretty obvious.

Almost abstract crop on a '41 Packard 120 Nose. Very oblique light exaggerates the shades.

Vintage, rustic-style entrance sign on Highway 61 at Gooseberry Falls State Park. This sign is one of my earliest memories of the North Shore.

The park is located in Castle Danger, about ten miles north of Two Harbors, Minnesota on the North Shore of Lake Superior. It is one of Minnesota's most popular and treasured state parks.

It was constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in the late 1930's/early 1940's as part of the New Deal getting men back to work during the Great Depression. There are several awesome historic buildings here along with lots of trails, many feet of rocky Lake Superior shoreline, a campground (book a year ahead of time for summer camping!), an awesome picnic area with CCC-built tables still in place and lots more.

It's a "must stop" place if you are going anywhere on the North Shore.

Thought I'd process one of the test shots I did for my 'icon' image back in January.

The wonderful iconic Wellington Cable Car. The sky was a fabulous colour but I decided to try and do selective colour process to show off the car.

Built in 1974, the sign became known as the “gateway to the Cross”, featuring on music videos, TV, famous photographs and as a landmark meeting point.

Considered the largest billboard in the Southern Hemisphere at 41 metres long and 13 metres high, the sign is comprised of two sides – the right being the traditional red and white Coca-Cola sign and the left being a flex-faced sign that’s used to display the latest Coke campaigns.

L’icona è un’immagine che riproduce su tavola un momento importante della religione cristiana, quindi l’icona sacra è un’opera d’arte.

Admittedly not the iconic shot that has eluded me through the years. For all the time that I have been in the area, I've not been around town at a time when the sign was in "all it's glory" with rig and tripod at hand...
