A private Museum of Icons has plenty of Russian ancient Orthodox items (www.russikona.ru/exposition.php). Also they keep a collection of Christian art of Ethiopia, that includes crosses, icons, paintings, photos and jewelry and sculpture. I was especially interested in paintings and copied one icon, the Gabra Manfas Qeddus en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabra_Manfas_Qeddus. It has a carved wooden background and frame with two added pieces of angels on sides. Ethiopian art keeps an ancient traditions in painting people and animals, simple yet very interesting and unique.

Set back from the coast but looking out over the ghost of a harbour to Cley church on the other side, a memorable view. The blue and yellow glass in the nave windows will not be to everyone's taste (it wasn't to mine in 2004) but it creates a special atmosphere and seemed strangely appropriate on this day in March 2022 with war raging in Ukraine. There are brasses including a skeleton in a shroud, and a fragment of 15th Century glass depicting St Mark, discovered about thirty years ago behind cement. It was exhibited in the Vatican Museums as an example of both late medieval English art and early modern English iconoclasm before being reset here.
