A beautiful warm sunrise over the icy land, creating quite a contrast in tones.

Most of you already know, that I like macro a lot and most of the time I want to push the limits to get as close as possible with my camera. So I did with the frozen puddle of water and this is the result. I see al kind of faces, you too?
Just a SOOC, no processing whatever.
Ice sculptures taken at Lake Baikal. It was quite cold ! Luckily the camera shutter is still working only my finger joints are stiff and my face numbed !
Many thanks for your visit, comments , invites and faves...it is always appreciated....

Thank you for your visit, most appreciated!
It is well known that the lakes in the Upper Engadine freeze at an altitude around 1800 metres in winter, and I wanted to experience this for myself. I travelled there in mid-February in the most beautiful weather - and it was far too warm for the time of year! But the Lake Sils was frozen and I - like many others - hiked across it to the mouth of the Aua da Fedoz. There, however, the lake was open and formed gorgeous ice sculptures. I just had to make sure that the ice under my feet was stable enough, a cold bath would have been a bit unpleasant...
Happy Weekend!

Hello There!
A view of a large retention pond with its first blanket of ice. It's hard to believe that just a few months ago I was seeing dragonflies here! The whole pond is lightly frozen and would be dangerous to walk on. As you can see, there are thin layers which are caused by the wind, The white blobs were created by snowfall. It was a perfect day for me to go to this park, because a warming trend had begun and all of this ice would have melted within a day. I'll be checking out this scene within the week and I'm sure it'll look much, much different.
Thanks a million for stopping by and for leaving a comment. I do appreciate hearing from you! Have a wonderful day and weekend!

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I’ve tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice.

It is the spaces inbetween the ice forms, whether curved or angular, that teach me about creativity and openness.
The rime ice is back today. Up close, it is really pretty. Just like little feathers hanging from my willow tree.
On the bridge across the river I found these large and abundant ice crystals. A good demonstration of how cold it was above Glas Allt Falls.
My 8th bike trip sees me climbing up from Loch Muick to Glas Allt Falls in freezing but beautiful conditions.

“She had never known that ice could take on so many shades of blue: sharp lines of indigo like the deepest sea, aquamarine shadows, even the glint of blue-green where the sun struck just so.”

Once upon a time on a winter day ...
... where we enjoyed this view.
The day was a gift from heaven, because from the early morning until night accompanied us the blue sky and the white snowy mountains. It was even the first day of the new year that we could enjoy together in our beautiful homeland. We were happy, we had fun. In the afternoon we had a fine cup of coffee in a wonderful restaurant. On the trip home we could once again enjoy the mountains in the last sunlight. It was a winterday that we like to remember so much.
From a wonderful friend of mine. Enjoy the dreamy music from a beautiful world.
