Midnight Sun, Norway

A vintage AutoKnips IV selftimer. It's a cool piece of photo history that still works. Made in Germany. I'm unsure of the year. Probably circa 1970. It even works on my Fujifilm X-T30. #AutoKnips #B&W #ShutterRelease #nostalgia

Another look up Chicago River's Main Stem. As mention in "Snow Day III" the views are ever changing. This photo was taken only a few moments after the other shot, but the different light and train blur make this a distinctly separate shot.

So it's now Winter in Sydney. June, 2024.

But nobody told the roses!!!

They keep blooming like it's Spring or Summer.

This is 'Just Joey' in my garden.

'Just Joey' is a hybrid tea-rose.

Photographed last Friday, 7th June, 2024.

The bokeh consists of the fiery red leaves of my Canadian Maple 'Lipstick Red' tree which is now in its full Autumn colours - despite it being Winter. The subtropical nature of Sydney's climate alters the seasons.

My Canon EOS 5D Mk IV with the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L II USM macro lens.

Processed in Adobe Lightroom and PhotoPad Pro by NCH software.

As it was raining my wife and I took turns holding the umbrella as we trod about, photographing these old masters.

The St James IV tower, in Holyrood Palace, Edinburgh, Scotland.

"Holyroodhouse", as it is sometimes termed, is the official royal residence in Scotland. The North-West James IV tower is the oldest part of the structure, originally built in the early 1500s by James IV of Scotland, adjascent to the now ruined 12th century Holyrood Abbey. However most of the rest of the building was designed by Sir William Bruce, and dates to the 1670s.

Taken with a Nikon D40 and a Nikkor AFS DX 18-55mm F/3.5-5.6G II lens, and processed in GIMP and Photoscape.

» - Saint Clair CEMIN
