The shadows in the series of depressions caught my eye.

Two weeks ago in Durand Eastman Park on a beautiful day. I wore minispikes, which were just right for the packed trails I was on.

I parked by the start of the yellow ski trail, followed it all the way around then down the west side of Durand Lake and over the ridge to the start of the Eastman Lake trail. I followed it along the east side of Eastman Lake then back along the west side to return to the car in the deepening dusk.

From the shelter the trail turns away from the Silver Lake Outlet side and goes down through an old picnic area then back up to the edge of the Genesee River gorge. I turned around and looked back.

Milady and I decided to go for a jaunt. We stopped at Wagner Brewing and Vineyards. They do excellent work on both sides of the house. I got a flight while Corky checked out the wines.

As the weather warms, those big doors will open up, making the whole room and extension of the deck overlooking Seneca Lake.

A couple weeks ago at Charlotte Tavern for Tuesday Tunes with eldest offsproing @Spielorjh. Lanse (far left) is in an Irish music group that has a session here on Tuesday evenings. He and his cohorts play beautiful music and I sip a Guinness. And take pictures of whatever catches my eye.

Letchworth is a waterfall chaser's delight. There are the three main cascades on the Genesee River and there are innumerable falls of assorted shapes and sizes along the tributary creeks on both sides of the gorge.

Friday, June 3 I hiked the Letchworth State Park trail 1 along the west side of the Genesee River gorge end-to-end with a loop back. It was a beautiful day for hiking - a few clouds and high about 75F. I took lots of photographs with the Olympus OM2 and Ilford HP5. Gaia GPS said 15.1 miles for the entire trip, which makes me think trail 1 is longer than the published 7 miles.

A southeast extension of Letchworth follows the path of the old Genesee Valley Canal. This series of small locks was abandoned close to 150 years ago and was replaced by a railroad line.

A few days before Labor Day I walked down to the Irondequoit Bay outlet. We had high clouds and bright sun. The Irondequoit Bay Marine Park begins near the top of the hill and stretches from the Sea Breeze Drive right-of-way on the left across to the treeline on the right and down to the bay. I was in the mood for taking pictures.

West across Sea Breeze Drive is Seabreeze Amusement Park. Yes, they are spelled differently. No, I do not know why. Both forms of the name have been around many decades.

(It appears that my Cinestill developer had had too many rolls of film developed with it. Both this and the previous roll were significantly under-developed. Cinestill one-step developer has its advantages, but I plan to go back to my Kodak D76.)

Wednesday, July 13 I got back to the Letchworth State Park Lower Falls area, which was still closed off when I hiked trail 1 in early June. I drove through rain showers on my way there but had no rain after I started walking. It was still overcast at the beginning of my walk with beautiful subdued lighting at the beginning and bright sun later on.

Another Friday at Letchworth. I checked out some connecting trails I had not hiked before. It had rained previously and the high grasses were very wet. Everything from the bottom of my hiking shorts on down was soaked.

The view of the Genesee River from Gardeau Overlook was pretty even in the flat light. I was not interested in clambering down the steep and muddy path to the river edge..
