This is a Christmas story I found 15 years ago that I found fascinating. I was out at a collectors fair and I came across an elderly gentleman selling his personal camera, and not just any camera either, it was the superior Bessa II. This is probably one of the best VoigtlÀnder's made because of its great optics. I asked why would you sell such a superb camera, his reply was "it's time to minimise and I only brought the camera to use on my mountain climb in 1956, the mountain was kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain." Since I found this so interesting, I asked him to write down this little piece of history so I could always remember the story.

What he wrote on the green note above: "Voigtlander camera, this I brought for 55 pounds ( then more than 3 weeks salary for me ) in a shop in Dar-es Salaam in 1955. I used it for about 10 years. In 1956 I climbed up mount Kilimanjaro with a friend ,but having only three days leave we didn't think we'd get to the top, the usual time taken being at least 5 to 6 days. However, we made it to Gilman's point, the highest level at 18500 feet. From there it would have been walking around the Glazier to the highest point. At 19365 feet we could easily have reached this head, we had more time another half day would have done it. I stood on Gilman's point at 7 a.m. Christmas morning 1956 but all we saw was cloud, however, it was the only white Christmas I've ever experienced. The camera came up with me and I still have the photos of the climb. I also took quite a few photos of scenery, elephants etcetera with this camera." - Peter Skinner

These four panels will make up the tops and bottoms of Rosanna II's side pods. The dark grey of the bow passes roughly into the black, as the paint has faded towards the bow. The light grey engine cowling has been maintained, though. The single red stripe is preserved to show (to those that know) the ship's allegiance to the CLF. The other stripes, once fully painted, have been allowed to fade and scuff.

My third custom from Watchmen, Nite Owl II.

Not my favourite hero but is quite interesting.

The head was an elf from LotR, but I painted the Hood and the glasses.

Don't know how to describe the thing on the top of the head, but is sculped.

The torso is painted as the legs and the arms.

Tell me what you think,

I really wanted to go with Batman but I didn't go with him because I felt he was too much of a "Iconic" character.

Projekt "Blacktron II Special Forces" Part 2 "MBT Scorpion II"

Yes, it is a slightly modified Halo Scorpion M808 B1. I wanted to recreate this tank since long. All previous models of this tank that I have seen, are not accurate enough for me. So I've been thinking long, and have come to the conclusion that in relation to a Minifig to double the size. Then I worked on self supporting chain runs very long. Because I did not like the bricks to hold the axes in addition to the running rollers and drive wheels of the chain. That takes some accuracy of detail in my eyes. So I have now managed by various techniques an accurate replica for me.It would be no reproduction ala Stephan Niehoff, if I had not made a few small changes. The turret I designed a little flatter, which looks more like a battle tank. And the cannon I've designed something spacey. Ohhh, of course, the MBT received a Blacktron II painting.

Details: The turret can be rotated 360 degrees, the gun barrel can be raised by 45 degrees, the chain runs can be rotated 360 degrees, and the chains work.

The Blacktron engineers created this tank based on the model of a series of games. They play this game with great enthusiasm. But they had to expand the dimensions to carry enough ammunition and hightech with. Because this destruction machine has a 160 mm cannon, which is why the turret was flat, to compensate for the enormous blowback. The 160 mm projectiles are fired by inductive voltage. And can hit a target up to 40 KM. This makes the bullets a little smaller because no propellant is required. The energy for the weapon and the drive provides a fusion reactor. So that no fuel is needed and a nearly unlimited range guaranteed. The secondary weapon is a high speed plasma machine gun, no ammunition unlimited number of shots.A neuroimplant of the second generation allows that one crew member is sufficient to perform all the functions of the tank.

The combat weight is the only weak point, with 125 tons of these MBT it is not suitable for all terrain. Each MBT is supported by Blacktron II infantry units. (Often elite infantry of the CS series). And drones of the SkyEye series. OohRah

Frustrating hour trying to shoot a bubble freezing. Too many things against me tonight including the wind and 50p Tesco bubble mixture! I did try to beef it up with some glycerin and it helped somewhat. The shoot ended in typical style when I kicked the pot over!!

However I do like the abstractness of these.....

The boat the Melody II in dry dock. I believe she has never recovered from Hurricane Sandy.

Circa 1973. I suppose that almost every photographer takes a photo such as this at sometime or another, especially in the age of film. Often enough during that era, amateurs such as myself would take some semi-waste shots just to get to the end of the roll!

In most of the world, this camera would be an Asahi Pentax. In the US, it was Honeywell Pentax as this one was. The lenses said Asahi though.

With a mechanically-operated shutter, aperture and focus, the button cell battery powered only the built-in TTL light meter.

Polish underwater habitat.

Designed by Antoni Dębski - diver, scientist, inventor, pathfinder. The precursor of saturation diving.

Built by him and his friends.

In 1968 Antoni Dębski, Jerzy KuliƄski and Bogdan BeƂdowski spent 7 days in Baltic Sea at the depth of 26m.

After the successful tests Meduza II was then used as an underwater cabin for the geological drilling and other works in Baltic Sea.

Now - after restoration - she is on display in the Polish Army Museum in Warsaw.

This week’s 52F challenge theme is “Street Details.” Instead of the typical street portraits, the focus is on the often-overlooked elements that we encounter daily. I decided to explore the area near my workplace, looking for something unique.

As I walked along one of the old brick streets, I noticed an intriguing metal "M" embedded in the pavement. I have no idea what the "M" represents—perhaps it is a manufacturer's mark or a piece of hidden local history—but I loved how it stood out against the bricks. It’s a small detail that could easily be overlooked, yet it tells its own quiet story. This photo ended up being my runner-up for this week’s challenge!

I picture these to have a personality similar to a tachikoma and bolo put together.
