A Hawk Hunting for Squirrels in my Front Yard. Sunday I saw this same bird fly down and snag one, haul it to the top of a tree and start to rip it apart.
A red-tailed hawk over our house. I see him/her quit often, I hear it more often than see it, love the sound that a hawk makes! My children call this their hawk!! Lincoln County, NC.

Even though hunting is banned in England now - at least chasing a fox is banned - the traditions go on. A few weeks ago we heard the hunt go past in the lane and found they were 'cubbing' - not what it sounds - it's an opportunity for the young riders, the children with their ponies to get used to the chase - and the chase is now following a bundle of fox scented rags, dragged by a quad bike across the countryside.

A number of hunts appeared together at the show. As well as mounted hunts there was a pack of beagles, with the huntsmen on foot and there were also some terrier men with Sealyam terriers who are these days much in demand for pest control.
The hounds had a great run out and clearly enjoyed themselves.
These are the beagles.
