How far are you willing to go to fit in??

Snowy Egret (Egretta thula) hunting for dinner along the edge of this open space pond. Although it looks like a miss with this strike I could see him catching and eating little 'somethings' (fish presumably) other times. I dropped the highlights and pushed the color up a small amount in post processing on this shot to help the water/detail stand out.

Job hunting is such a nasty struggle, constantly dehumanizing, perpetually banal. I wish I were better at it, so it could be over and done with. Anyone need a production or admin assistant? How about a photographer? Or an article written? Edited? In addition to a multitude of cultural and creative works I also have extensive experience in office and administrative management, as well as Constructive Criticism and Evaluation Skills, Troubleshooting, Multi-tasking and other nifty buzzwords. I have an unlikely array of skills and am extremely organized. I'm also a pyrotechnic, I play the saw, I can dye hair with a modicum of flair, I'm retraining as an aerialist, I've helped run two venues, a movie theater and an after-hours, I started my own business, take dictation, run a blog that's won two small awards, and helped found a flashmob movement that went global when I wasn't looking.

And yet, out of the hundred applications I've sent out these past few weeks, I've only received three call-backs, and one of them was so tawdry as to practically be a scam.

Another day of apartment hunting. There are clear yes's and no's in this search! I saw a few more that were not great and then a couple that I really like! The ones that I like are all in the same building and I think I have a favorite that ticks almost every box including most of the nice-to-haves. I'm going to check out a few more tomorrow to be sure and then I'll make my decision. Today is day five which also means it's the last night in the school-provided hotel, so the pressure is on to lock this down. I'm actually changing hotels tomorrow to another one in the neighborhood that I stayed at and loved in 2018. I could have extended at this hotel (and it would have been a little cheaper) but I figured that if I'm spending my own money, I'm going to treat myself and get something I really like.

I also tried out a pilates reformer class for the first time today. It was a private class and everything we did in the reformer was so unexpected and weird. I loved it. I have two more private classes on this package that I bought and then I'll get another discounted intro package that's a combination of private and group classes. Then we'll see. If I do end up renting in the building I saw today, there's a CrossFit gym just across the street, so I may just return to that. For now, it's fun to try something new.

Photo of the day: the interior of a building I saw today. I loved the real greenery on every floor of the building and the open-air courtyard.

I think she might need a new camouflage outfit. Pink just isn't great for hunting.

It was never clear exactly where the clay pigeon would fly thanks to uneaven ground and a balky launcher and many lived to see another day

I realy didn't remember where I've downloaded these... Hope they'r legal! By the way I love the fall colors ans the pretty dresses with matching hats. We do hunting/working things with our dogs (roughaired dachshunds) so thats why it took also my interest... Lucky me I live now; I can wear my FjällRäven trousers, Dubarry boots and warm fleece or wax coat! But I still like to wear a green hat!

Val & I are very excited about pulling off this shoot. It’s something that we have been discussing for a very long time. Going over plans and mapping it out over the phone wasn’t easy but we managed to do it. We’re very pleased with the outcome of these pictures thus far, and can hardly wait until we see the end results of all the pictures. And so I am pleased to present to you the beginning of our Southern Barbies Collection.
