Lit using two speedlights -- one SB-800 at 1/16 from above camera left and one SB-700 at 1/64 from underneath. Nikon 300mm f/4D (AF-S) with TC-14E II 1.4x teleconverter.
This tiny hummingbird just can't get enough nectar! He darts from one "blossom" to another, getting his fill.

Hummingbird washing his face. I watched this bird do this on both sides of his face. He was rubbing his face against the wet branch. This bird really enjoyed the rain... I also really enjoyed the rain. Explored.
Melody made this photo of a hummingbird actually drinking from the running water of the Fish Pond fountain sculpted by Xuan My Ho. Melody and I each took several photos of two hummingbirds at this fountain. This is the original photo. The following slide is a cropped version that shows the tiny bird's long beak in the flowing water. Melody captured this image using her Canon Powershot SX50.
