This feeder is on my deck and I took this while eating lunch. When I eat on the deck I always bring my camera, you never k now what will come around.
Every year around this time, the local hummingbirds come and hang around in my Rose of Sharon. This fella, let me get within less of a foot and get some beautiful close ups. The pair love to fly around in a wonderful dance. Taken in Freelton, Ontario Canada. POM
What is really amazing about photographing hummingbirds is you may catch a couple of hummingbirds in almost the same spot doing the same thing, yet each picture is different. We had a storm roll in tonight and that ment low light which upset me because they were all out in force. I am now refilling the feeders every other day. To be honest with you I think they have a drinking problem, lol
I love the blurred background here, but the liquid in the bird feeder has the complete reflection of the wetlands in the background.

Probable female Rufous Hummingbird, front feeder, 5 October. This bird showed up on 1 Oct. Today was the first day I was able to get photos of it.
Photos of a late afternoon spent with a large charm of hummingbirds. It was one of the coolest bird-related experiences I've ever had.
