Wikepedia says, "The Rufous Hummingbird (Selasphorus rufus) is a small hummingbird, about 8 cm long with a long, straight and very slender bill. The female is slightly larger than the male.

The adult male has a white breast, rufous face, upperparts, flanks and tail and an iridescent orange-red throat patch (gorget). Some males have some green on back and/or crown. The female has green upperparts, white underparts, some iridescent orange feathers in the center of the throat, and a dark tail with white tips and rufous base".

Rufous hummingbird, Selasphorus rufus. (If this is really an Allen's, I'd appreciate a correction.)

Anna's Hummingbirds in the back yard.

The jewelweed in the beaver meadow at Yates Mill Park is in bloom, so the ruby-throated hummingbirds are out feeding. They are highly interactive with one another and are fun to observe. This picture and the next were shot on an overcast day, so the brilliant yellows, greens, and blues of their wing and back feathers aren't as iridescent as they might otherwise appear. In sun or shade, they're beauties!

Only young ones around here now !!

Calliope Hummingbird, Sandia Park, NM

These guys couldn't get enough today. They flew constant circles around my yard (and cat) to feed. They are awesome to watch (and to hear their wings).
