It usually only takes an hour or two before it is discovered.
just one of a possible 3 Hummingbirds taking part of what we now know as "Hummer Warz".
It's where one hummer becomes territorial af a feeder...and well you can figure the rest out. It's very interesting to watch.
The jewelweed in the beaver meadow at Yates Mill Park is in bloom, so the ruby-throated hummingbirds are out feeding. They are highly interactive with one another and are fun to observe. This picture and the next were shot on an overcast day, so the brilliant yellows, greens, and blues of their wing and back feathers aren't as iridescent as they might otherwise appear. In sun or shade, they're beauties!
