Selasphorus sasin
I suspect this is the (or one of the) very shy selasphorous hummingbirds resident in our backyard garden. If so, it is an Allen's Selasphorus sasin sedentarius

Haven't seen one of these for a while. They sometimes show up here in the fall or winter. The last one we had here was in November 2010.
Did you ever know that you're my hero,
and ev'rything I would like to be?
I can fly higher than an eagle,

I sat on the desk of my house, waiting for a perfect shot of this bird all morning. Finally, I took this shot, but then realized my camera was only set at 1024x768!!! Oh well, we live and learn. It still makes a fairly decent 8 1/2 x 11" print.
Spotted two Ruby-throated hummingbirds late in the evening. This guy was there when I got home eating from the feeder and flying into the trees north of the house. The second landed on the feeder late in the evening just before the sunset and I could not get a shot of the two together.
I will keep my eyes open for the two of them sitting on the feeder tomorrow night. I will post them if I can get them together, I believe they are two young males.
