Shot from my makeshift "Hummingbird Blind" - i.e., a wide open bedroom window and screen, hiding behind my curtains. This feeder is about 6 ft. from this window. I just waited, somewhat patiently, and caught this little guy on his approach!
Haven't posted too much to flickr lately. I've been shooting mostly black and white stuff that I want to print before I choose which ones to scan and manipulate.
I think square cropping worked well for this. I'm not happy with the distracting bokeh from the tree leaves in the background, however.
Only one visitor tonight.
Pentax K5, SMC Pentax-A* 100mm F2.8 macro, Pentax AF360FGZ camera mounted flash.
Tripod mounted about 4 feet away from feeder, at ISO 320, 1/160s & F22.

We have had a lot of hummingbirds this year and they are so fun to watch. Usually there are about 4 or 5 but this year we can't even count them!
Once again she suprises me by returning with more nesting material after she has already laid 2 eggs!
