Cigars, bourbon, and Aggie War Rings. There’s a domino in the photo to boot. It was given to Aggie War Ring by Richard Hay of Austin, Texas (Aggie Band ’93/Trumpet). Aggie Ring feels badly for Richard Hay (Aggie Band ’93) because he just can’t seem to work a GPS when he’s up here on the Jersey Shore getting lost. I assume that they don’t teach them land nav skills in the Aggie Band.
There’s no tobacco tax in Kansas so Jersey Shore Fightin’ Texas Aggie Ring ’84 felt obligated to bring a box of 24 Pale Face (7 x 50) cigars home to his beloved Jersey Shore. He smuggled them in his luggage. Bad, bad Aggie Ring.
The two dozen Pale Face cigars were manufactured by the Gunslinger Cigar Company in Kansas. They were rolled in August, 2018, so they’ve had a little time to mature. Aggie Ring says, “They are a good, smooth smoke.
Aggie Ring is going to fill the moisture compartment in his humidor with bourbon instead of water because Aggie Ring is C-R-A-Z-Y!!!
“It’s going to take me at least a couple of days to smoke these delicious cigars.” said Aggie Ring.

This was fun to take. I knew what I had in mind, so I asked my husbad if I could dig through his humidor, well that caused him to run upstairs and supervise me, being the smart ass that he is, he handed me one that was beyond huge and I said no way, that is going to look dirtay. he said if yer gonna do it, do it right. uh.... meanie. I settled on a cigar and started out with my canon point and shoot, as I am able to do a self port easier cause its lcd folds out, it didn't work so I decided to give the xsi another try. I srsly need help. I can't master selfies on it, I even had it on the tripod. I did get some good shots, crystal clear even, but I didn't like this shot clear, I played around in picnik and gave it some grain. :) I have to say, I love FGR. Somedays they just make my 365 super fun!

Lewis Allen's humidor has moist foam rubber on all sides of the box's interior. Maybe this keeps the paper more uniformly damp, but I'm thinking that once a humidity level is established, it's uniform regardless of the position of the moisture source.

This piece was a commision custom made and sized for someone who had their own Humidifier and Hygrometer.
Nikon SB-24 (1/16th power, diffused through frosty shower curtain) on camera left for fill. Not moved for any of the three shots. Canon 580EX (1/32nd power, also diffused through frosty shower curtain) at camera right. This one was in three separate positions, one for each shot; from left to right, the flash was moved farther back to move the hot spot out of the family of angles that would cause a direct reflection off the face of the hygrometer and allow the needle to be seen beneath the glass surface.
