The Patio cave would have its own independent air conditioning,fan and ventilation.Cherry wood adding class to the natural and masculine environment. The entertainment Mecca would compliment the full-bodied, intense rich flavor of Partagas premium cigars.Upon leather couch,a Bond movie on the big screen,the 007 theme in my ears:I smell the aroma of my Partagas removing from the wrapper.Lighting the Partagas,the even burn reveals the quality of the hand rolled process.Light draw is like taking a bite of fire-grilled primerib steak,satisfying. Some describe hints of almond, cedar, or roasted coffee.I taste the superior tobacco:bold,yet not harsh. The smooth and relaxing cigar takes my mind to places I have been. Like,morning hikes through the cedar forest trails along side the Frio River in the Texas-Hill country.Taking an escape from the city to nature's hideaways.All while relaxing in my Partagas-cigar-cave in the comfort of my own home.

Esquire, together with partners Double Cross Vodka, Herradura Tequila, and Camacho Cigars hosted the launch party for The Lounge at Gotham Steak, Chef Alfred Portale’s newly re-designed restaurant in the Fontainebleau Hotel in Miami. As guests sipped on specialty cocktails from Double Cross Vodka and Herradura Tequila, they joined Chef Portale in celebrating the arrival of newly-appointed Chef de Cuisine Todd Miller. Chef Miller created a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres from a newly designed menu for the 175 guests to enjoy and savor.
Additionally, Camacho cigars created an outdoor Cigar Lounge where guests could enjoy a cigar that overlooked the Fontainebleau’s legendary pool deck. At the conclusion of the event, guests were treated to a gift bag that included an Esquire issue, a copy of Esquire’s new cookbook, ‘Eat Like a Man’, and complimentary cigars and a cutter from Camacho cigars.

Una vitola impegnativa e succulenta adatta ad un post pranzo estivo senza troppi pensieri, un peso medio massimo da approcciaere con cura che la casa fondata da Herman Upmann (non vi sbagliate, è proprio un tedesco di Brema) offre in affiancamento al 46.
Corre l'anno 1843 e questo banchiere in cerca di diversificare i propri investimenti giunge a Cuba dove all'epoca si producevano centinaia di milioni di sigari, basti pensare al dato del 1855 ( anno in cui vengono stabiliti i cru del Bordeaux) con 357 milioni di sigari esportati. Cifre da capogiro che appunto attirano affaristi da tutto il mondo compreso il nostro Upmann che apre la sua manifattura in calle San Miguel. Diviene presto famosa per la qualità e rimane di proprietà della famiglia tedesca fino al 1922 che la deve cedere all'inglese J. Frankau & co. Dal 1937 entra a far parte della galassia Montecristo perché viene rilevata da Menedèz, Garcìa y Cia.
La fama maggiore viene raggiunta negli anni 50-60 quanto diviene la marca preferita di JFKennedy prima dell'imbargo e la baia dei porci.
Oggi è tuttora in grande spolvero ricoprendo un buon 4% del mercato degli Habanos e ha inaugurato una nuova fabbrica a L'Avana vicino alle sedi di Montecristo e Diplomaticos.
Questo magnum è già una bellezza appena fuori dal tubo con una veste scura allettante e aromi speziati , quasi terrosi e Mentolati già a crudo.
La fumata regala momenti di puro piacere con un fumo denso e dolce che staziona a lungo su note di ebanisteria, cannella e chiodo di garofano. All'inizio pepe nero e poi via via che il fuoco avanza lungo il cannone ecco anche note di miele e frutta secca con amaricante di nicotina e cacao a bilanciare. Finale in crescendo di emozioni con una persistenza di diversi minuti . Notevole fumata anche se non adatta ai principianti, le misure sono davvero notevoli e richiede almeno 2 ore di tempo libero. 93
Una coronas gordas che può anche affinare qualche anno in humidor ma che già oggi dona momenti di gioia anche in abbonamento con del Barolo Chinato Borgogno che ne segue bene l'andamento dolce amaro ma che potrebbe anche godere della torrefazione gentile di un grande millesimo Champenoise come un Bollinger Grande Annèe 2002 gentile e maestoso al tempo stesso con la sua torrefazione fresca di caffè e citrino, menta e rafano, fragola e bocca d'incenso, frutta e canditi, ficcante ma delicato in bocca con la maturità del 2002 ma una carica di freschezza e gioventù che ti fanno rimpiangere forse la prematura stappata.
Ma ci pensa il signor Upmann a scacciare ogni pensiero e a ricordarti che la gioventù non è mai stata un difetto.

Ein guter Humidor zeichnet sich vor allem dadurch aus, dass er eine konstante (tropische) Luftfeuchtigkeit im Inneren halten kann. So behalten die Zigarren ihr volles Aroma und können auch über Jahre gelagert werden.
Die nicht unbedingt luftdicht schließenden Kisten sind zumeist mit dem „Spanische Zeder“ genannten Holz der Westindischen Zedrele (Cedrela odorata) ausgeschlagen, was einerseits die Reifung und Aromaentwicklung einer Zigarre unterstützt und andererseits Schädlinge wie Milben und Tabakkäfer abhält.

While in Seattle (well, actually Snohomish), I found this unusual humidor in an antique store. It has two glass shelves inside and came with two end panels from cigar boxes. The panels had beautiful cigar labels attached. The humidor sits atop a vintage wooden cabinet that once held DeLaval cream separator parts in my grandfather's hardware store.
My first humidor. Made from 1/2" Mahogany on the outside, a layer of 1/4" poplar with 1/8" Spanish Cedar interior. The corner keys are black walnut for added strength and decoration. Holds moisture great.
