Greenpeace and Walhi activists chained themselves to excavators during a protest at the remaining forest wall in the Sinar Mas concession in Kapuas Hulu distric, West Kalimantan,Indonesia on Thursday 06 August 2009. Greenpeace, the West Kalimantan offices of Walhi and AMAN took action to protect Indonesian rainforests and peatlands from being destroyed by Indonesia?s largest forest criminal Sinar Mas in the heart of Borneo .The non-violent direct action took place in palm oil concessions surrounding the Danau Sentarum National park, one of the largest wetlands in the world, source of Indonesia?s largest and longest river Kapuas Hulu, and the main source of protein for West Kalimantan?s 4.5 million people.

The Klang Gates Quartz Ridge is one-of-its-kind because it has four types of quartz formation. Despite being one of the most unique geological formation in Malaysia, the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge has little conservation and currently being threatened by urban development. More recently, the proposed Eastern Klang Valley Expressway became the latest threat towards the Klang Gates Quartz Ridge, as the expressway alignment may pass through the quartz strip.

I really love "The Riches"---the show is well-written and well-acted. Except when it comes to the use of an iPhone. I know I'm getting awfully nerdy here, but it's a little too obvious that Minnie Driver's character is using the phone upside-down. Apparently, this has also been observed on Friday Night Lights and Bionic Woman.

Ulu Yam is a small town in Selangor, Malaysia. It is famous for its lor mee (or noodles in thick soya gravy), waterfalls, hotspringd and the dam.
Great place for a quick road trip, great food and a cool dip in one of the many waterfalls.

View of the high peaks of Bukit Tabur West from the trail-head to Bukit Tabur East. The prominent 4 to 5 km quartz dyke is dubbed, "The Dragon Backbones" by locals. The hiking trail is practically along the spine.
