The snow on Monday was the kind of heavy, very wet stuff that sticks to the trees in big clumps -- for a while, until the wind knocks it down with unerring accuracy into your collar and down the back of your neck.

This is Alexei, stranger #9 for my 100 strangers project.. He made it easy to get back into this project after a hiatus of being too chicken to ask people! With his "Free Hugs" sign, I had to. He's a great, outgoing guy, and the world could use more free hugs. We couldn't chat for too long - I had a bus to catch, and he had more strangers to hug. I was a bit nervous about it and only grabbed a few shots with my point and shoot, so I'm not entirely happy with the results, but here he is. I'm hoping that by the end of the project I'm more comfortable and spend more time to make quality portraits.
My last work is called Life! How to represent life through the body, to create one ideal body that contains all phases of life at one time. To enjoy and understand in one single moment how life and relationships are beautiful! Starting when we are young, the relationship with our parents that helps us to grow up, then we are waiting for a baby, the most beautiful gift of our lives! And then, when we are older the intense and deep hug with our partner and a beautiful kiss!

A hug is a form of physical intimacy, not necessarily sexual, that usually involves closing or holding the arms around another person or group of persons. The hug is one of the most common human signs of love and affection, along with kissing.
These two girls were playing 'catching' with each other, and when the girl on the right managed to catch up with her friend, she was so happy she hugged her, right at the moment this picture was taken.
Seeing that the two girls were oblivious to their surroundings, I decided to squat down and moved closer to take a close-up shot of them.

Seems weird to me. A mom (maybe?) teaching her child to hand out Free Hugs. The opposite of Stranger Danger.

ED 26/209
All Ed ever seems to want is a hug, but no-one wants to give him one. Maybe one day he'll find love.
