The animal is a statement against the huge amount of plastic waste that pollutes rivers, seas and oceans around the world.

The original origin of the word hug is unknown. Two possible theories exist. The first is that the verb hug, first used in 1560, could be related to the Old Norse word hugga which meant to comfort. The second theory is that the word is related to the German word hegen meaning to foster or cherish and originally meant to enclose with a hedge.

This is my sister hugging one of the huge sequoia trees in the local zoo and botanical garden. She always does that when she visits the zoo, it has become a kind of tradition, but that was the first time I took a photo. :)

There are few people who can hug Cleo and escape unharmed, my niece Natalie is one of them. If Cleo enjoys a hug or not depends on her mood and that can switch from one moment to the next. Generally she appreciates a massage but only around the head, it's not wise to touch her paws or - horror of horrors - her rear end.

These hugging buildings are actually one structure called Zebra Tower. Located in central Warsaw, Zebra Tower was built in 2010. It is 60 m high.

The clouds that had played about in the sky earlier, were now settling above the mountain across the lake. Combined with their reflections, they appeared to be hugging the distant landscape. This in turn helped to support the calm atmosphere, pervasive in the area. However, there is also that element of luck. Just before pressing the shutter, a fish grabbed a bug from the waters surface. This happened right in the center of my shot. That in turn left a small circle and I pressed the release.

Is was definitely a magical evening, as nature put on quite a show. The hour before sunset is often my favourite time of day for landscape photography. It is vivid with colors, lines and shapes show their form, and most elements are accentuated.
