A pair of Great Blue Herons hug on their new nest. This became my Top Viewed image in December 2013.

The Georgian and Russian women's beach volleyball teams greet each other before an Aug. 13, 2008 match at the Beijing Summer Olympics. The game was played only hours after leaders of the two nations agreed to halt hostilities after a five-day conflict.
Secret #6: I need a hug every day... but most days I'm too afraid to ask anyone.
Hugs make me feel grounded. When I'm afraid or stressed (which is most of the time) my insides feel like they're shaking. The only thing that makes it stop is being hugged. I get too embarrassed to admit I need a hug every day and certainly to ask any one for one because I'm not 6.
It was a beautiful moon last night. I got a few shots in full auto mode on the D300, trying to learn more about exposure/shutter speed. Seeing what I could come up with. Then I saw the palm next to the moon and moved the tripod to get this. Kinda a little artistic and I wish I had a bigger zoom ( don't we all) but I am liking the effect of it seemingly hugging the moon.
And thanks everyone for yesterday....xxx luves you all ;)

Today I was sick with the respiratory version of the creeping funk. My daughter is an ex-micropreemie with chronic lung disease, and although she's doing fabulously, I didn't want her to get sick, too, so I stayed away from her all day. Didn't hug her. Drew. Drawing is like breathing for me but MAN. I missed my kid something fierce.
I was also thinking about the big, bone-crunching hugs my mom doles out.
This is available from the print shop.
Not far from deserted farmhouse.
It was quite boggy to reach this.
A mini challenge for Country Walking Magazine - hug a tree - the tree needed to be just the right size for finger tips to meet and eyes should be closed.
No one said the tree should not be in need of TLC - in this case the tree needed a large amount of TLC, but perhaps was beyond reviving.
Perhaps I will win a badge, perhaps not.
I did win Dennis a badge for his balaclava hat, but he's lost it already; he was sad about loosing the badge; he hasn't lost the hat.
