About Cinderella
The story of “Cinderella” follows the fortunes of young Ella (Lily James) whose merchant father remarries following the death of her mother. Eager to support her loving father, Ella welcomes her new Stepmother (Cate Blanchett) and her daughters Anastasia (Holliday Grainger) and Drisella (Sophie McShera) into the family home. But, when Ella’s father unexpectedly passes away, she finds herself at the mercy of a jealous and cruel new family. When Ella meets a dashing stranger in the woods, unaware that he is really the Prince (Richard Madden) and not merely Kit, an apprentice at the palace, she believes she has finally found a kindred soul. Meanwhile, the calculating Grand Duke (Stellan Skarsgård) devises a plan to thwart the Prince’s hopes of reuniting with Ella and enlists the support of the devious Stepmother. But, as in all good fairy tales, help is at hand. Soon, a kindly beggar woman (Helena Bonham Carter) steps forward and, armed with a pumpkin, a few mice and a magic wand, changes Cinderella’s life forever.
Directed by Academy Award® nominee Kenneth Branagh (“Thor,” “Hamlet”) and starring two-time Academy Award winner Cate Blanchett (“Blue Jasmine,” “Elizabeth”), Lily James (“Downton Abbey”), Richard Madden (“Game of Thrones”) and Academy Award nominee Helena Bonham Carter (“The King’s Speech,” “Alice in Wonderland”), “Cinderella” is produced by Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: Days of Future Past,” “Elysium”), Allison Shearmur (“The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 1”) and David Barron (“Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1”) with Tim Lewis (“Edge of Tomorrow”) serving as executive producer. The screenplay is by Chris Weitz (“About a Boy,” “The Golden Compass”).

Paul Petersen became a part of the Motown family in the latter part of the 60's and it's interesting to hear his recordings. I knew he played Jeff Stone on the Donna Reed Show and had done recordings prior to Motown. What is nice about these Motown recordings is that the producers didn't attempt to turn him into a Blue-Eyed Soul singer, but capitalized on his easy-going way with a lyric.
"Your Love's Got Me Burning Alive" was the first Motown record I was able to find by Paul. I was really curious and excited about what I would hear and this song was a fantastic revelation. To my ears, it didn't have a typical Motown Sound, but a sort of pop-country feeling. The biggest thing I got out of this record was that it was FUN!
It's those "OOOH WEEE's" that grabbed me right away. This is one of those Summertime, drive-with-the-windows-open-and-belt-along type of songs. Producer Hal Davis did everything right. A great western guitar opening gives way to a big, bright and everybody's-gonna-be-happy arrangement. A finger-snapping tempo with just the right amount of horns to sharpen the edge a bit. A fantastic piano figure plays throughout. The backing vocal group seems to be having a ball.
Paul Petersen sounds right at home. He sounds simultaneously young and grown-up. I love his cool, laid-back delivery. When he gets going on the "OOHH WEE" refrain with the ladies joining in, it all sounds catchy enough that you can't help but find yourself singing along. Isn't that what a good song shoud do?
Writers Frank Wilson, Ruth Talmadge and Vance Wilson supplied fine lyrics that could play well as pop or country-western. Motown's West Coast team scored many fine productions that added a nice California flair to Motown's output.

The twin city of Krems-Stein in 1995 celebrating the 1000 year jubilee, is one of the oldest cities in Austria. The terrace formation, the favorable climate and location at the crossroads of the Danube trade route with the north-south connections from the Waldviertel (Wood district) and the wine district (Weinviertel) favored for thousands of years the colonization of the area and contributed essentially to the development as a center in the Danube region.
For a far into the early days reaching settlement tradition speak finds from the Paleolithic (Hundssteig, Wachtberg, 30000-25000 BC), from the Neolithic period (ceramic cultures), but also the special role of the region in the Early Bronze Age Unetice Culture (1800-1500 BC) as well as traces of the urn field culture of the late Bronze Age and the Hallstatt culture (800-400 BC). In the La Tène period settled here probably celticized groups, in the Roman period the area belonged since the beginning of the second Century to the sphere of influence of the Germanic Marcomanni. According to the biography of Saint Severin ("Vita Severini") the center of the Germanic Rugians in the second half of the 5th Century probably lay in the area of Krems-Stein, for the next century the cemetery in Unter-Rohrendorf proves the presence of the Lombards.
First time mentioned by name Krems is in a charter of Emperor Otto III of 9th August 995 as orientalis urbs que dicitur Chremisa - as a fortified place in the East which is named the Chremisa. The settlement then lay on the eastern border of the small Mark Ostarrîchi in close proximity to Moravia, but soon it grew beyond the castle district and developed in the 11th Century to a market settlement around the High market (Hoher Markt). Since 1014 Krems was due to a Royal donation (Königsschenkung) parish. The sister city of Stein is only in the second half of the 11th century (1072) named. Its center was the to parish Krems belonging Michael Church. Stone primarily was a toll and loading berth for salt, wine and grain. From skipper settlement arose a market and in the 12th Century a town settlement (since 1144). The character as a city of Krems is yet a little earlier for the year 1136 proven.
The position at the Danube the two cities had assigned their complementary functions: Stein lay directly at the stream and became toll and landing place for ships, had but due to the rising hillsides little space for large commercial and market places and construction activity. Krems, however, was cut by tributaries and floodplains from the main stream, but offered plenty of space for colonization and markets as well as the protection of a mighty castle.
Around 1150 Krems was the most important commercial center in the country. In the tower of the town castle of Krems at the steep slope of the High market between 1130-190 the first Babenberg coin, the Kremser penny, was minted. On the world map of the Arab scholar Idrisi Krems is named before Vienna, which only in subsequent time should surpass Krems. The city's growth probably already in the first half of the 12th Century the relocation of the parish of St. Stephen's Church on woman mountain (Frauenberg - now Piaristenkirche) to the foot of the mountain made necessary where the new Vitus church became parish. End of the 12th Century Krems was surrounded by a city wall, 1196 the first city judge is testified. The city has been expanded several times and extended in the late Middle Ages from the Steiner Tor in the west to the Krems river in the east. The Dominican monastery, founded in 1236 was initially outside the city.
Stein evolved from the high terrace in the direction of Nicholas church, which in 1283 was elevated into the status of a parish. In the late Middle Ages, the area between Landstraße and the Danube was built-up and the city in the area of the in 1223/1224 founded Minorits monastery (consecration of the church in 1264) and between Reisperbach and Linzertor extended.
Both cities since the beginning of the 12th Century were princely and complemented each other as land and Danube trading venues. Their close relationship has led to a unique construction as a twin city. Both cities had a civic community with its own military and financial sovereignty, but had a common municipal law (1305) and a common municipal judge and later mayor (since 1416). 1463 Emperor Frederick III the two cities conferred a common coat of arms, the imperial double-headed eagle in gold on a black background. In addition to Krems-Stein only Wiener Neustadt and Vienna had the privilege to lead the double eagle. The union of the cities existed until 1849, after 90 years of independence of Stein, in 1939 took place the recent merger.
The economic boom in the late Middle Ages was based on the viticulture and trade with wine, salt and iron. In Stein shipping formed a significant economic factor. 1463 Stein received by the Emperor Frederick III the privilege to build a fixed bridge, the second oldest after Vienna in the area of the Austrian course of the Danube river.
From the richness and self-conciousness of the citizenship testifies the in 1265 built "Gozzoburg" of the mighty city judge Gozzo of Krems, a castle-like town house with loggia. The appearance of both cities is characterised of the numerous houses from the 15th and 16th century, which are designed with bay windows, sgraffito and paintings and as well as arcade courtyards inside. A characteristic of both cities are the since the High Middle Ages profable "vintage courtyards" of monasteries and bishoprics, which were used to store wine and served for the administration of the monastic possessions, such as the Passau courtyards, the Kremsmünstererhof or the Göttweigerhof. The Göttweigerhofkapelle (chapel) is equipped with valuable frescoes from the early 14th Century. About 1500 Krems through the work of the Augsburg artist Jörg Breu became a center of the Danube School.
Since the second half of the 16th Century Krems was mostly Protestant. The resistance of the citizens against the recatholicization in 1593 led to the loss of all privileges. It was not until 1615 as Emperor Matthias cancelled the harsh verdict and restored the independence of the city. A big part in the Catholic restoration played the in 1616 settled Jesuits who ran the school and by their theater performances became famous. In addition to the Jesuit college emerged in the time of the Counter-Reformation the Capuchin Monastery Und (1614) and the early Baroque new building of the Kremser parish church, in which renowned Italian artists took part.
The 17th Century due to the shift of international trade routes and the decline of the importance of the Danube trade brought an economic downturn. Severe damages the city suffered in 1645 by the Swedes, who besieged Krems, conquered and extended it to the main fortress, and by the reconquest a year later. It was only after 1700 as a upswing set in again, which found its expression in the Baroque style of the city. Employers for the resident artists or handicrafts were the big monasteries of the country. One of the most important painters of this period was Martin Johann Schmidt, the Kremser Schmidt, until his death (1801) in Stein maintaining a painting workshop.
In the second half of the 18th Century changed the ecclesiastical structures of the city. The since 1616 the Jesuits transmitted Frauenberg church was taken over by the Piarists in 1776 after the abolition of the Order (1773). 1783 the Dominican Monastery, 1796 the Minorit's monastery and the Capuchin monastery was abolished and profaned.
The biggest change of the cityscape since the Middle Ages took place in the 19th Century by the removal of the ramparts and the city gates. Remained except for remnants of the wall only the Steinertor (gate), which became the symbol of the city. Of the in the course of industrialization established factories of importance were the leather factory in Rehberg, the factory for the manufacturing of mats and rugs made of coconut fibres in Stein and the first quartz millstone factory of Austria. Great reputation also enjoyed the organ builders Zachistal, Capek and Hradetzky and the Kremser bell founders, including Matthias Prininger, Ferdinand Vötterlechner and Johann Gottlieb Jenichen. In the last third of the century followed the connection to the railway network, 1909, the Donauuferbahn (railway line along the Danube) was opened.
After the Second World War - on 2nd April 1945, there was heavy bombing - succeeded the city to preserve the architectural heritage largely in its original state and to connect it with modernity. The successful revitalization already received international recognition, Krems in 1975, 1979 and 2009 was Europa Nostra award winner. The city with the "Art Mile" in Stein (Kunsthalle, Museum of Caricature and Artothek), the Danube Festival and numerous cultural events developed to one of the most important cultural centers in Lower Austria .
The art treasures of the city as well as tradition and the history of wine-growing presents the "museumkrems" in the former Dominican church. Which the in 1994 founded and in 1995 opened "Danube University", Krems became 13th Austrian university town and is since 2002 the seat of a University of Applied Sciences (International Management Center). With the since 1998 annually realized Wachau Marathon Krems itself also could established as a "sports city".
In the 1970s, the city once again experienced a major expansion. In 1972 joined the community of Hollenburg Krems. The once separating Danube became the connecting element between the urban north and the "orchard" in the south. Meanwhile, the "Southtown" became integral part of the city, but could maintain its rural character.
Krems has partnerships with cities in Denmark, Germany, France, Czech Republic and the USA.

CAMP HUMPHREYS – As the lights at the Community Tree Lighting and Christmas Tree Lane were turned on, Nov. 30, the holiday season officially began here.
The event, hosted by Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation, took place at Transformation Park. The event was kicked off by remarks from Brig. Gen. Darryl Williams, the 2nd Infantry Division’s deputy commanding general for support and Col. Darin S. Conkright, the Humphreys Garrison commander.
Following the welcoming remarks, a holiday invocation was read and Christmas carols were sung by the Humphreys American School Choir. Following the performance, Santa Claus appeared on top of a fire truck and children yelled out a cheer to him.
“I like the lights of the Christmas tree,” said Daltry Edwards, age three. “I want to go to top of the fire truck so I can be with Santa Claus.”
But children were not the only ones happy. Parents were happy, too. Captain Jeremy Larson, of Bravo Company, 602nd Aviation Support Battalion, who participated in the event with his daughter, said “I enjoy this event. My kid loves to see these lights and all kinds of decorations.”
After Santa Claus and the participants spent a little time at Transformation Park, Santa Claus led the crowd to the Super Gym, where the Holiday Social and Humphreys Holiday Bazaar took place.
Upon arrival at the Super Gym, there was a ribbon cutting to officially open the events. The Super Gym’s lobby was full of people, excited about the upcoming holiday season. The Holiday Social featured free goodies, the 2nd Infantry Division Band, the HAS Choir and members of the Camp Humphreys Community Theatre group performing an excerpt of their upcoming production of “A Christmas Carol.”
“I have two daughters who are in the play,” said Capt. David Blackwell, assigned to Headquarter and Headquarter Company, U.S. Army Garrison Humphreys and the Provost Marshall’s Office. “I like my daughters’ acting and how the people reacting. I’m very proud of my daughters.”

Laser therapy can be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with other therapies such as PRP Platelet Rich Plasma, prescription topical medications (like Formula 82M), oral medications and supplements as well as no linear scar NeoGraft FUE hair transplants.
At Bauman Medical Group, we have successfully treated thousands of men and women with low level laser therapy since 1997.
For men and women suffering from thinning hair and hair loss, a full medical evaluation is recommended to determine genetic risks, medical conditions, nutritional status and other factors that influence hair growth.
Dr. Bauman also recommends obtaining scientific baseline trichometry measurements with the HairCheck cross-sectional hair bundle trichometer and HairCam dermoscopy for tracking purposes BEFORE starting any regimen.
To watch the video from The Doctors, or for more information on how you can be a part of a clinical trial and have a chance at receiving a FREE LaserCap, visit www.844GetHair.com or call 1-844-GET-HAIR.
Dr. Alan J. Bauman, M.D. is a full-time certified Diplomate of the American Board of Hair Restoration Surgery who has treated over 15,000 hair loss patients from across the globe since 1997. He has pioneered hair restoration treatments and procedures such as minimally-invasive FUE NeoGraft hair transplants, low level laser therapy for hair regrowth, compounded hair growth medications, eyelash and eyebrow transplants as well as Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments using placental ECM additives.

A guided walking tour of Vieux Lyon. The tour would take around an hour.
The Vieux Lyon (English: Old Lyon) is the largest Renaissance district of Lyon in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon.
This zone is served by the metro line D
In 1954, Vieux-Lyon, the city's oldest district, became the first site in France to be protected under the Malraux law to protect France's cultural sites. Covering an area of 424 hectares at the foot of the Fourvière hill, it is one of Europe’s most extensive Renaissance neighborhoods. There are three distinct sections: Saint Jean, Saint Paul and Saint Georges.
The Saint Jean quarter: in the Middle Ages, this was the focus of political and religious power. The Cathedral of St Jean, seat of the Primate of Gaul, a title still conferred upon the archbishop of Lyon, is a good example of Gothic architecture. The Manecanterie adjoining the cathedral is one of Lyon's few extant Romanesque buildings. Formerly a choir school, it now houses the museum of the cathedral’s treasures. Saint Jean is also home to the Museum of Miniatures and Film Sets, located in a building that was the Golden Cross Inn in the 15th century.
The Saint-Paul section: in the 15th and 16th centuries predominately Italian banker-merchants moved into sumptuous urban residences here called hôtels particuliers. The Hôtel Bullioud and the Hôtel de Gadagne are two magnificent examples and the latter now houses the Lyon Historical Museum and the International Puppet Museum. The Loge du Change stands as testimony to the period when trade fairs made the city wealthy. The Saint Paul church with its Romanesque lantern tower and its spectacular spire mark the section’s northern extremity.
The Saint Georges section: silk weavers settled here beginning in the 16th century before moving to the Croix Rousse hill in the 19th century. In 1844, the architect Pierre Bossan rebuilt the St George's Church on the banks of the Saônein a neo-Gothic style. In the Middle Ages, when there were only a few parallel streets between the hill and the Saône, the first traboules were built. Derived from the Latin trans-ambulare, meaning to pass through, traboules are corridors through buildings and their courtyards, connecting one street directly with another. Visitors can discover an architectural heritage of galleries and spiral staircases in these secret passageways, as unexpected as they are unique.
The walking tour ended in Place Saint-Jean near Lyon Cathedral.
The Place Saint-Jean is an old pedestrian square in the 5th arrondissement of Lyon (a.k.a. the "vieux Lyon", which means the oldest borough of Lyon). It is located in front of the Roman Catholic cathedral of Saint-Jean.
The square belongs to the zone classified as World Heritage Site by UNESCO.
The Place Saint-Jean is located near the metro station: Vieux-Lyon – Cathédrale Saint-Jean. It is served by line D.
It is the oldest place in Lyon.
On January 10, 1794 , the square was renamed Place du Temple de la Raison (or Place de la Reason).
In 1844 a fountain designed by the Lyon architect René Dardel is built in the center of the square. It reproduces a small ancient temple in a neo-renaissance style housing a sculpture of Saint John the Baptist baptizing Christ , realized by Jean-Marie Bonnassieux .
In the 1850s , the street connecting the square to Tramassac Street was enlarged (in yellow on the map). Later, this street had to be further enlarged and aligned in order to completely open the square whose eastern facades were to be aligned. The Rue des Antonins was also to be enlarged. This part of the project (orange part on the plan) has never been realized. In 1852 a wholesale market was inaugurated on this square. A project carried out in the 1930s even began to transplant this function of wholesale trade to the whole of the district of Vieux Lyon by making a tabula rasa of the preexisting buildings; This project is adjourned and then definitively buried by the Second World War.

Friday 19 / Saturday 20 July 2013 - Day 01 - London (25m) - Madrid (610m) - Lima (34m)
Our Peruvian adventures commenced with a few fits and starts: for some reason we'd been unable to do online check in for Iberia's LHR-MAD and MAD-LIM flights, and at LHR T5 the check in machines told us to go to the Special Assistance desk, where the attendant blithely said it was probably because the flight was fully booked. URK! Fortunately that proved false, but hiccup No 2 was a delayed departure from LHR, which meant we only had an hour to make the connection with the onward flight to Peru. Luckily about half the plane were in a similar position, and so the Iberia team arranged for buses to meet us on the tarmac and take us to the South American departures terminal. We made the flight with about 20 mins to spare, and (I think) bypassed the 'leaving Europe' customs/passport control.
Our overnight flight to Lima featured an Iberia plane with amenities tailored for sleeping - old school TV screens that lower down from the ceiling, showing only one 'family friendly' film at a time. Not very engaging - but probably a good thing.
Landing on time at Lima's Jorge Chavez International Airport - 05:25 or there abouts - we were met by Val's taxi driver, Alberto, who drove us to Miraflores along mainly silent streets - we were only to appreciate how unusual this is on our return to Lima at the end of our trek!
Val was at the Faraona Grand Hotel to meet us, and we sat and chatted for a while, hoping for early access to a room. Sadly no go, so around 8am, Val took us and fellow trekker Mike on a tour of Miraflores, which focused on finding a coffee to kick start the morning, and getting hold of some Peruvian Soles. Tricker than it sounds, (no) thanks to our UK banks.
As others on the trip were arriving through out the day we had the whole day in Lima, which we spent pottering along Miraflores' promenade (which felt very Bournemouth-like at times - I don't think it was purely jet lag!), watching the surfers and the huge flock of sea birds diving into the bay. After lunch in pure vegetarian style at Bircher Benner (recommended), we made our way back to the hotel, happy to find we could get into our rooms. Time for a shower, a repack, and some trashy TV in an attempt to stay awake until the 6pm group meeting and reviving Pisco Sour.
Dinner at Les Tejas, a short stroll from the hotel, provided a chance to chat with our fellow trekkers as we dined al fresco with grills of various kinds all round. Not surprisingly, a good night's sleep.

In 1932, Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) was not yet half-way through his career. After years of poverty as a young artist in Barcelona, he had moved to Paris at the turn of the twentieth century and, by the early 1930s, was both celebrated and wealthy. He was aware, however, that he was losing contact with his artistic contemporaries, and that critics were questioning his ability to create radical new work.
Picasso was always restless, constantly trying his hand at new things. His Blue and Rose periods in the early 1900s were mainly of figurative paintings. On discovering archaic and notwestern art, he moved further from naturalistic representation and radically reinterpreted it when he and Georges Braque invented cubism. Between the two world wars he made works inspired by classical art, and others that engaged with the contemporary interest in surrealism.
As a foreigner living in France, Picasso refrained from political activities and kept a distance from official engagements, including those with his native Spain. Things changed dramatically when Nazi German and Fascist Italian warplanes bombed the Basque town of Guernica in 1937, in response to which Picasso created a monumental black-and-white painting which to this day is regarded by many as the greatest anti-war statement in art.
Throughout his life, Picasso sought to revive the tradition of western art, especially painting. He competed creatively with his contemporaries, particularly Matisse, but also earlier artists including Velázquez, Ingres and Manet. He returned repeatedly to subjects such as the female nude, classical mythology – particularly the character of the Minotaur – and the bullfight.
Picasso married twice and had several other long-term relationships. He had four children. By 1932, his marriage to Olga Khokhlova was under increasing strain. The escape offered by his relationship with the significantly younger Marie-Thérèse Walter became a key inspiration for much of
his work from this period.
The work that one does is a way of keeping a diary.
Pablo Picasso
LOVE FAME TRAGEDY

1932 was a make-or-break year for Pablo Picasso (1881–1973). In October 1931 he had turned fifty. He was inundated with invitations to exhibit his work. At the same time, critics openly discussed whether he was an artist of the past rather than the future. Picasso’s grand apartment on the rue La Boétie, his tailored suits and chauffeur-driven car symbolised his rise from poor Spanish migrant to international superstar, as did his marriage to the Russian ballerina Olga Khokhlova, his principal model and inspiration for much of the late 1910s and early 1920s.
But Picasso felt increasingly restless and critically sidelined. He bought an eighteenth-century mansion in the Normandy countryside where he experimented with sculpture. He created a chaotic studio in a Parisian apartment identical to the one below in which he lived a life of bourgeois respectability with his wife and son. He was in a secretive relationship with a younger woman, Marie-Thérèse Walter. He flirted with surrealism while trying to beat Henri Matisse at his colourful game.
These contradictions were brought into focus by his first major retrospective in June 1932. In the preceding months Picasso channelled his energies into ambitious paintings intended to silence his detractors. As the year progressed, the mood darkened from sensuous exuberance to ominous anxiety. Rarely overtly political, Picasso’s work nonetheless reflected the times: a world – including his native Spain – increasingly in the grip of economic depression, mass unemployment, populist nationalism and the rise of totalitarian regimes. If 1932 began for Picasso under the sign
of love, it ended with a premonition of tragedies to come.

Biography
X were the quintessential L.A. punk rockers before they grew into a world-class rock & roll band and live band; however, enthusiasm for their unique, intelligent and humorous work never quite reached critical mass.
Formed in 1977 after songwriter and bassist John Doe (b. Feb. 24, 1956) met (and later married) Exene Cervenka (b. Feb. 1, 1956) at a Venice poetry workshop, with rockabilly veteran Billy Zoom (b. Feb. 20, 194?) on guitar and D.J. Bonebrake (b. Dec. 8, 1955) on drums, the band garnered an immediate following. "Discovered" by ex-Doors keyboardist Ray Manzarek, he took the band into the studio for the recording of Los Angeles in 1980. It was curious, at a time when punks were supposed to hate hippies, that X's merging with an ex-Door was not only tolerated, but earned them stature as California's preeminent punk band when the record earned across-the-board raves. 1981 saw the release of the similarly punked-up Wild Gift, while their 1982 album, Under the Big Black Sun, began what would be a long career in merging hard rock, country and folk into their fiery mix. The band successfully began to mix in their populist politics with an eye toward matters of the heart.
As the band began to reach wider audiences, both Doe and Cervenka enjoyed outside careers in the arts — he as an actor in films like Great Balls of Fire and Roadside Prophets, and she as a poet and spoken-word artist, collaborating with Lydia Lunch and Wanda Coleman.
In 1983, the rootsy songs on More Fun in the New World lent themselves to acoustic performances which the band had taken to trying live. They took it one step further on their side project, the Knitters (with Dave Alvin) which yielded one Slash album, Poor Little Critter in the Road, in 1985. Ain't Love Grand was a harder rock album in 1986 and was followed by Zoom's departure. He was momentarily replaced by Alvin, but for recording purposes, the band recruited Tony Gilkyson (formerly of Lone Justice) for See How We Are, the band's most decidedly hard-rock record in the catalog. Gilkyson stayed for the recording Live at the Whisky A Go-Go in 1988 before the band took some much-needed time off, although they never broke up. In the interim, Doe and Cervenka had since divorced, and the pair continued to work as solo artists, releasing Cervenka's Old Wives Tales (Rhino, 1989) and Running Sacred (1990) and Doe's Meet John Doe for Geffen in 1990.
By 1993, the band got together for the recording of Hey Zeus!, a collection of new songs, but the response was underwhelming, and it was back to solo work. Doe released Kissingsohard for Rhino in 1995. Exene also released Surface to Air Serpents for the 2.13.61 label, as well as a reading of the Unabomber Manifesto, after changing her name to Cervenkova. During their frequent hiatuses, X would occasionally appear in Los Angeles and San Francisco and during one stay, recorded a live album in San Francisco in 1995, Unclogged, and self-released it. Cervenkova's latest project is Auntie Christ with Bonebrake and Matt Freeman of Rancid. Gilkyson also works as a solo artist. X also appeared in three films: Penelope Spheeris' punk documentary The Decline of Western Civilization, Urgh! A Music War, and a documentary of their lives and times, The Unheard Music. Beginning in 1998, founding member Billy Zoom returned to the fold for a series of on-again/off-again shows and limited touring; a pair of 2004 Los Angeles concerts were recorded and videotaped for Live in Los Angeles, released both as an audio CD and video DVD in the spring of 2005.

IMCOM commander visits Rheinland-Pfalz
By Rick Scavetta, U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz
KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany – Lt. Gen. David Halverson, the commander of Installation Management Command, met with Soldiers and civilian personnel during his recent visit to U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz.
He arrived in Kaiserslautern the evening of Nov. 2, just in time for the encore performance of the Soldiers Show, sponsored by U.S. Army Garrison Rheinland-Pfalz.
During his stay, Halverson met with senior U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force leaders to discuss the joint partnership in the Kaiserslautern Military Community. During a work force town hall at the Armstrong’s Club ballroom, Halverson discussed his focus on human capital and overseas extensions for Army civilians.
At Rhine Ordnance Barracks, garrison staff briefed Halverson on the new fire alarm control center and updated him on the construction projects to include a new garrison headquarters and the Rhine Ordnance Barracks Medical Center.
Afterward, at the Sembach Community Activities Center, Halverson presented a Purple Heart to Sgt. Brighton T. Mancillas, who was wounded by hostile fire during a 2010 deployment to Afghanistan.
Halverson concluded his stay in Kaiserslautern following an award ceremony for Kathleen Marin, the outgoing IMCOM-Europe regional director, and welcoming Michael Formica, the incoming IMCOM-E regional director, following a change of responsibility ceremony.
His spouse, Karen, visited several sites in the garrison meeting with family members in Kaiserslautern, Landstuhl and Baumholder. Halverson was accompanied by Command Sgt. Maj. Jeffrey Hartless, the senior IMCOM enlisted leader.
Halverson’s visit to garrisons in Europe began on Halloween in Belgium, where he visited U.S. Army Garrison Benelux. Afterward, Halverson also visited U.S. Army garrisons in Wiesbaden, Bavaria and Italy.
