Melbourn'es Yarra River was originally named Birrarung by the Wurundjeri. It is situated in East Central Victoria and divides the city in "North and South of the Yarra". It originates in the Yarra Ranges, flows through the Yarra Valley and Greater Melbourne before it empties into the Hobsons Bay. The river stretches over a total length of 242km (Source: wikipedia).
Technique:
The picutre is a 10 Shot Panorama taken about 20min after sunset with an picture exposure of 30s at f/11 and ISO 100. I used DxO Optics 6 for the RAW file conversion and Autopano Pro 2 for the stitching of the panorama before post-editing it in Bridge and Framing in Photoshop CS5.

The end-result is a 76 Megapixel photograph which is printable 4.7m x 2.0m at 72 DPI.

A couple of days ago I have received an interesting email. A person has found my youtube videos and wanted just to thank me. That was a surprise for me.
The topic was related to coming out as a crossdresser to your partner. For the person, who wrote me it was very hard to accept that the boyfriend turned to be a lady sometimes…it is hard, but being open to your partner might surprise you – if there is true love, the partner will try to understand what is hidden behind – the whole world! We all deserve to be happy the way we are!
I am very happy, that my videos could help someone to accept their partner! Crossdressing is an Art of transformation, and one of my main goals is to prove that!

Another post.. so soon after the last one?! Well, now that I am enjoying my summer holidays.. I do have a bit more time. And while there is still a heatwave going on, today is a very rainy day. So I don't feel too bad about spending some time at my PC.

The Spanish Steps are located on the Piazza di Spagna in Rome. The term Spanish Steps is often used as a popular name for this square. Here is also the Fontana della Barcaccia literally: Fountain of the ugly boat . The fountain provides the Piazza di Spagna with a picturesque appearance. The Stairs belong to the church of the Santissima Trinità dei Monti. The church, with its two towers dominating the Spanish Steps, was originally founded by the French King Louis XII in 1502. Already in the 17th century they wanted to connect this church with the square below where the Spanish embassy was located, hence the name Piazza di Spagna. Inside the church it is quite large with numerous chapels lining both sides. Each one a separate dedication with unique presentation aspects. The Deposition of the cross sculpture by Wilhelm Theodor Achtermann. There is an Obelisk in front of the church. The Obelisk Sallustiano is one of the thirteen old obelisks of Rome. It was built in Roman imperial times in imitation of the Egyptian obelisks. The obelisk was given in 1738 to Pope Clement XII. On 8 December, the Pope traditionally brings a flower tribute to the statue of Mary at the foot of the Spanish Steps.

De Spaanse Trappen bevinden zich op het Piazza di Spagna in Rome. De term Spaanse Trappen wordt vaak gebruikt als populaire naam voor dit plein. Hier staat ook de Fontana della Barcaccia letterlijk: Fontein van de lelijke boot. De fontein verschaft de Piazza di Spagna een pittoresk uiterlijk. Op donderdag 19 februari 2015 werd de recent opgeknapte fontein, voorafgaand aan de UEFA Europa League-wedstrijd AS Roma-Feyenoord, ernstig beschadigd door hooligans van Feyenoord. Het wangedrag van de hooligans leidde tot internationale verontwaardiging. De Trappen behoren bij de kerk Trinitá dei Monti. De kerk, die met zijn twee torens de Spaanse Trappen domineert, is oorspronkelijk gesticht door de Franse koning Lodewijk XII in 1502. Binnen in de kerk is het vrij groot met talrijke kapellen aan beide zijden. Elk een aparte toewijding met unieke presentatieaspecten. Met de prachtige kruissculptuur van de Depositie van Wilhelm Theodor Achtermann. Al in de 17de eeuw wilden ze deze kerk verbinden met het plein beneden waar de Spaanse ambassade was gevestigd vandaar ook de naam Piazza di Spagna. Voor de kerk staat een Obelisk. De Obelisk Sallustiano is één van de dertien oude obelisken van Rome. Het werd gebouwd in de Romeinse keizertijd in navolging van de Egyptische obelisken. De obelisk werd in 1738 geschonken aan paus Clemens XII. Op 8 december brengt de paus traditioneel een bloemenhulde aan het Mariabeeld aan de voet van de Spaanse Trappen.

This is my entry into the Micro Sci-fi City category for Space Jam 2018, a moonbase! This also doubles as part of a collaboration with my LUG, IowaLUG. (We’re currently remodeling the website, but I figured I would include the link anyways.) I tried to make the buildings very non-standard and give most of them interesting shapes, and I think I achieved this. There is a tunnel system so that all of them are connected and none of the inhabitants get sucked out into the vacuum of space. ;-) One of my favorite easter eggs is if you’ve been following me for a decent amount of time, you would recognize my SHIP that I made this past September; I finally got around to making a micro version of it for the landing pad! Personal achievement, bigtime. ;-) The buildings are left to right, front to back:

According to Wikipedia, the Many Glaciers Hotel is a historic hotel located on the east shore of Swiftcurrent Lake. The building is designed as a series of chalets, up to four stories tall, stretches for a substantial distance along the lakeshore, and has a Swiss alpine theme both on the outside and on the inside. The foundation is made of stone, with a wood superstructure. The outside is finished with brown-painted wood siding, and the window framing, and balconies have wood sawn in Swiss jigsaw patterns. On the inside, the four-story lobby is surrounded by balconies, whose railings are patterned after Swiss designs. Construction on the hotel began in 1914 and was finished in just 1 year on July 4, 1915. The Great Northern Railway was establishing a series of hotels and backcountry chalets in the park and the Many Glaciers Hotel was the "Gem of the West". This was part of an effort by Louis Hill, president of the Great Northern Railway and son of James J. Hill, to establish Glacier National Park as a destination resort and to promote the area as the "American Alps". To this end, Hill chose a Swiss chalet style for the hotels and chalets. The Glacier Park Lodge (previously known as the Glacier Park Hotel) and the Many Glaciers Hotel were intended to be the core structures, while the chalets and campgrounds were cited in the backcountry within an easy day's ride or hike from one of the hotels or another chalet. The chalets were intended to entice visitors to leave the comfort of the hotels and see the backcountry in a more rustic manner. These were especially used during the early 1900s when the Hotel first opened, and the main attraction in the park was horseback riding. In the early days of Many Glaciers Hotel only the rich and famous could afford to stay in this beautiful structure and the rustic chalets throughout the area. Today, the hotel still maintains its historic character, in part by not placing televisions in guest rooms. Most rooms either have views of Swiftcurrent Lake or the surrounding mountain scenery. The hotel is a contributing property in the National Historic Landmark, Great Northern Railway Buildings district. And is a member of Historic Hotels of America, the official program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. The main attractions in the area include hiking, boat rides or rentals, or simply enjoying the western environment that Many Glaciers provides.
Barbara's wonderful group has been hibernating for a couple of weeks but she's invited me to take it on for a while. It is, in my opinion, the best, high quality colour group in FlickrLand so I'd better not screw it up :-) Excellent images with great use of colour and super composition - that's the aim.
