This multi-faceted work was crafted in the Donald and Elaine Rafelman Creative Arts Studio at Baycrest by residents, patients, family members, staff and volunteers. Each clay tile is unique and was made by hand, hardened in the kiln, painted and glazed. The vibrant colours and shapes reflect different themes of life from social and cultural identity to the beauty of nature. This brain may be one, unique piece of art, but it is more than meets the eye. It is a collaborative work made by many brains whose pieces shape a mosaic that reflects the diversity of the Baycrest community.

Of course, ignoring the 6-hour jet lag and setting up the alarm for really early to be on a beautiful Pacific beach before the sun.
La blancheur de l'hiver
Dans le silence de la nature.
La neige tombe délicatement.
La nostalgie de l'hiver s'accroche.
Les flocons de neige virevoltent dans l'air.
La beauté réside dans la blancheur de l'hiver.
Le sizerin flammé brille sous la pureté de la neige.
Seul sous sa brindille dans le silence, la sérénité et la paix.
Son éclat surpasse tout ce qui est pure et beau dans la nature.
La nature procure aux yeux attentifs les plus beaux spectacles du monde. La photographie ajoute au plaisir des yeux celui d'un divertissement sans fin.
