So, I looked at houses on Sunday, and while my price range is considered low for the area, even in this recession, there were a few decent places. Granted, they all need work. The frontrunner has what I've nicknamed a 70s pimp dungeon basement, and lovely forest green carpeting on the main level, of the kind that was only ever popular in the 80s. However, hardwood floors are underneath that carpet, and the dungeon can be stripped of paneling... it's entertaining, at least. We'll see, we'll see. :-)

note it extends here on the far side? PO has a trailer that he parks here. a full sized trailer. big enough for two z's. and lots of tires. nngh.

two car garage, with plenty of room for a subaru and a Z.

Formal dining room with a sweet window bench. We love window benches!

pretty nice place - very close to the park. should list for about $300k. the unit for sale is on the right (follow the path to the kids' toys on the patio)

It's hard winterizing things like row boats... even just pulling them from the lake is tough, tougher when the lake freezes it in place!

We are not going to kit out the nursery too much, just keep it simple and cute, and put in a trundle daybed so we can have guests sleep over. When that happens we'll probably just have the baby sleep with us.I kind of think the baby will sleep with us at night anyway, so.

House-hunting

This house was nice, but the price was too high for its size. Also, it was one of only a few single-story, single-car garage houses in a very large neighborhood of two-story, two-car garage homes.

A bloody great millipede (that's the scientific term) exploring a weaver bird nest.
