On the left, back to front: red (good luck) candle in star-spangled blue holder, salt in stoppered bottle, chalice, quartz gazing ball, turtle, jasmine incense. On the right, back to front: red candle, carved stone owl, bronze Kwan Yin bell, flocked bear figure, sunface silver box containing ashes. Several of the smaller pieces fit into the tin Kwan Yin sits on for travel.

..it would look something like this. This is the rental house we want. That is, if they will accept a minor amount of fudging and classify the grrls as "small dogs". I mean, come on folks, these girls have lived in rentals their entire lives with no damage to speak of. Why is a "small dog" going to do less damage?

Anyhow. What with the education budget crisis and various other things that are making every bit of long-term (or short-term for that matter) planning a nightmare, I can hope that this one little thing can go our way, right? And if it does, then that means everything else will work out right too. Doesn't it?

Tiny deck off the living room. This doesn't show the ground floor garage, which is pretty unexceptional.

More house hunting. This one wasn't too bad, but it was just too small, and things were a little iffy with regards to maintenance. Also, claustrophobic back yard.

In better news, though: My parents are loaning me their old van until my new Prius gets here. So I have transportation again!

More of this fine 1875 house for sale which did not meet our needs. But how lovely !

Richard took Jerry & Me to see a few more homes on the market.

House #15

Great Tit inspecting a very desirable residence. Good outlook over gardens, short hop from feed store, and a short flight to good watering hole. Excellent security system, predator proof.

Unfurnished, Leasehold, with vacant possession. Highly recommended.

if you blow this up, waaaaay down at the end, in the middle, is a vertical structure that looks like a ladder. this, friends, is a deer stand. HUNTIN FROM YER BACKYARD.

As of Sunday we are offically homeless. Whew.. Im exhausted and not thirlled that we have to move a 2nd time when we find our house. oye!

pretty cool house with a fantastic kitchen - also listing at $339k

Honey, the kitchen is small but I really like the nursery.

I know it is a mess but I am completely smitten. The interior is very... errr, interesting. Clothes still in the wardrobe and fruits in a bowl. No, not an urbex trip - this was a completely legitimate viewing.

we were interested in this place - it is very nice... but on the left at 767... mmmm....

These Eagles were checking out a nest that has been used for a couple of years near Lake Carnegie, Princeton, NJ. This year it did not get used, but I think this pair were checking it out for next spring. He moved some of the branches and twigs, as she looked on. Then he took off and she followed.

yes, the windows need some help.

This is the house we moved into, later in the summer, before we bought it.

My mom is house-hunting, and here's a find she sent me on Euclid

Avenue. Love those Berkeley addresses! and love the way the Web

brings families together through those collaboration tools (i.e. e-mail). I'm still trying to get her onto Flickr.

From the kitchen, you can see the dining room and a dark bit of living room (on camera flash just couldn't throw enough light that far).

Metered off the window and exposed manually at widest aperture. Forced the flash to fire.

Processed in Photoshop Elements - adjusted the levels in two layers to brighten the interior without affecting the window.
