CJ was so blessed this year to get Mr. Fish for 3rd grade. He is an amazing teacher that is really big on teaching the kids life lessons along with what they learn in the books. Part of his emphasis is on responsibility and making kids accountable for doing homework on their own, organizational skills and taking responsibility for their actions. Part of his approach includes these nightly reading slips, a weekly responsibility checklist and a weekly speaking activity. To say all of this has been good for CJ would be an understatement. These might seem like "little things" but in teaching the whole "picture" in life, they are HUGE. Thanks Mr. Fish!
myacademy.se/ - We founded the My Academy in 2005, when we ourselves experienced what a huge difference it is that someone outside their own family come home and coach around lecturing work. It gets smaller everyday stress and create increased motivation of the children.
After dinner we played and read some books with Little Guy. He got tired.
After he fell asleep, we graded some homework papers.
Then we headed to bed.
Not the most exciting day, but I relished spending the day with my sis' and my son!

The red circle actually means something good :-) It means "well done".
A few candies to help me keep up my energy and now I'm back to finishing my last paper for the semester (It's kind of late. Maybe I'll just finish tomorrow)
One of the assignments my youngest child had for the weekend began with "Set three oranges on the table in front of you".
As I was helping him with his homework, I though I could take this as a chance to do a little homework myself.

I was using the grinder at work & noticed the flying sparks, thought that it was suitable for this weeks homework. Taken on shutter priority, iso 200 with a 6 second opening, camera auto chose f/5.0.
Sophie enjoys doing homework while sitting on the sofa. Neither of them are happy to sit at a desk/table!
