For the first time in a handful of semesters, I ACTUALLY GIVE A SHIT!
If it wasn't for health insurance reasons, I really should have just taken last semester off, I neither cared nor showed up, but am always willing to abuse the system until it gets better.
I spent all day in bed, reading my marketing book... and watching Celebrity Rehab... and the Food Network... and some Lifetime movie that had Emma from Degrassi in it.
BUT I GOT MY ASSIGNMENT DONE ON TIME! Luckily I have a few days cushion between what's due for my other classes and then it'll be my birthday and nothing else will matter.
Carissa and I gave each other photographic homework assignments. My task was to photograph one item three different ways. This is my Kindle, lit entirely by computers in all three photos.
Science Homework: Diffusion Practical - The glass on the left started with clear water, and the glass on the right a coffee solution. Coffee solution was gradually added to the clear water.
Homework has officially begun in our household again this week. Nothing like 1st and 2nd grade school projects!!!

Description: Happy homework club.
You guys remember I made an art homework a coupe of weeks ago, well I have a new version now which is also homework. The teacher said we all need to add a picture on.
The computer screens were from a photo I took myself of my Dad's recording studio after he set up the computers (he doesn't let me touch the computers lol).
The tect and the compositing were both made in Blender.
Here are the steps I took:
1. Model the text and get the animation and lighting in place
2. Take a picture now that my Dad was ready.
3. Go into GIMP (photo editor) and darken it all down apart from the computer screens. I did this by putting a mask over the computer screens by adding a new layer, making it black with a 50% opacity so that I could see what I was doing and then transform them to make them fit perfectly with the screens. I then filled them in black (100% opacity) and merged the two layers togeather. I then added another layer and made it black with a big opacity (I'm not sure of the number because I added some each time). I then selected the masks, pressed "Alpha To Selection" to get anything in that area selected, chose the darkening layer and deleted the selection that I made. I then deleted the masks because they weren't needed now leaving me a nice background with some audio editing software.
4. I uploaded it to my computer and put it on a UV Unwrapped plane in Blender.
5. I adjusted the lighting and depth of field.
6. I then composited with a mixture of filters and colour modifications.
7. Rendered it.
8. Uploaded it.
9 (still to do) - hand it in (due firday 26th november 2010)
