Today is homework day!

They have to read 15 minutes min. in both French and English everyday. I'm letting kidlet #2 off easy today, as this book is much too simple for her.

Haha,

My parents were rearranging the furniture today; trying to fit a lot of the stuff we had stored at our other house into our actual home so we could rent the place out.

They [parents and brother] went out for a few minutes, so i took a break from my dreadful AP Euro homework and jumped on my dad's chair that was just sitting there in the middle of the living room.

I love the color of your walls, it really represents our family's crazy, artistic side.

White bores me.

I love my outfit today; i wish you could have seen it better.

This title should really be something like "We are having work done on the house."

Housework = the work of keeping a house clean and tidy.

Homework = work which teachers give their students to do at home.

THe objections to doing homework abound... causing stress for you and your child or children. Here are some ways to ease them into good working habits, and break down some barriers. If you apply some of these rules to yourself, you might find it can help you with some difficult chores as well!

I was supposed to be getting some homework done, but Apple sucked me in with some exciting announcements today. Of course it is later in the evening and I already know the story, but I love watching the Steve Jobs presentations.

Village Jarang, Ghatanji Block, Dist. Yavatmal, Maharashtra, INDIA.Vaishali Ganpat Chaudhary, 14, right, studies along with her younger sister Manisha inside their Grand parent's residence in Jarang village.

14-year- old Vaishali Ganpat Chaudhari was studying in the sixth standard in Savargaon in Yavatmal district. She used to attend school regularly despite the discord at home. Vaishali's father is an alcoholic. Unable to bear the situation any further, her mother decided to walk out one day. She left her marital home, taking Vaishali with her and moved in with her parents in Jarang in Ghatanji block. The move dealt a double blow to Vaishali. Not only did it interrupt her education, the minor was forced to become a daily wage worker with her mother in order to make ends meet.

It was during one of her field visits that Sheetal Thakre, a child rights activist with NGO Vikasganga met Vaishali. When the young girl confided in her and told her that she wanted to return to school, Sheetal took up the issue with Vaishali's mother and grandfather. She convinced them to let her enroll in the school in Jarang by telling them that education would improve Vaishali's livelihood prospects and secure her future. Vaishali now attends class 5 in the village school. UNICEF with funding support from the IKEA Foundation has been working in Maharashtra in the districts of Jalna and Yavatmal since 2009 and Wardha since 2011 to eradicate child labour by rescuing children and facilitating the process of re-enrolling them in schools. This has been done by partnering with local NGOs that have a dense network of field coordinators - each one covers an average of 10 villages at the grassroots level. UNICEF India/2013/Dhiraj Singh.
