i don't agree with pushing the kids to watch commercials on TV in the first place. taking account he's coming from an extremely poor family I think it must be very frustrating...
One of her homework assignments included doing some fingerpainting. Yeah, that one met with a lot of resistance, you can tell.
I have my fabric all pressed and cut into strips to prepare for class with Jacquie Gering tomorrow! She is teaching machine pieced hexagons for the Minneapolis Modern Quilt Guild.

He was as proud as can be that he had homework for the very first time. I know that feeling won't last... :)

It's usually a battle, but since Teeny came home with her new "Learning Log" (basically a big pink homework book under a new name) it's been less so. Today she had to show she understood non-chronological reports (!?) so she wrote about the Arctic Fox, found some pictures of them on the internet and decorated her page with icicles, which is what she's drawing here.
Another day of not doing much of interest. K took les enfants swimming this morning while I ran. I followed my 10k trainer and managed to cover 12.1k of which i estimate I ran 9k of, so I was pleased. In the afternoon we went to a 5th birthday party which was noisy and not fun. Then home for homework, grocery shopping online and some CBeebies.
i took a few pictures of the school pond with different wind lights which i think makes a big difference it can look spooky or beautiful

I'm now blind from doing my Garage Studios homework, my first attempt at strobist flash... I was going for jewel thief caught in the act but methinks the red lipstick went a bit too Robert Palmer video, ho ho... still, it was a fun (and frustrating) first attempt!

Wystarczy że na zdjęciu mam ziarno :P Swoja drogą, bardzo duże wyszło jak na ISO400(Foma). A może tak mi się wydaje, bo dawno nie robiłam zdjęć na takim filmie...

Alexandra's first pieces of homework were a real struggle. But then again all she was asked to do was colouring, and in the immortal words of one of her knowledge-hungry school friends " if it was just to do colouring I might as well have stayed in preschool".
Thankfully now she has to do letters and numbers, she does her homework diligently and conscientiously - even the colouring elements.
Long may it last as she will have homework to do every single day for as long as she's at school....
