Day 286 ~ Doing Homework Together

Wednesday, October 12th, 2016

Anna came home with homework to do because she refused to work in class. Dominic was actually the one that helped her since he was working on homework too. He was very patient with her and used a great tone of voice and attitude. He took the time to teach her and not just tell her what to do. He could be a tutor! I was quite impressed.

Students from 11 to 17 work on homework in a relaxed setting at HCLS East Columbia Branch.

The current unfinished homework assignment. The Natalie Portman photo came from a Nov 2004 Entertainment Weekly cover with Julia Roberts.

And there is no stalker-ness here... the assignment called for a "celebrity."

Obviously, I didn't take this picture, but it's me, so it's going in the album ;)

Today is homework day!

They have to read 15 minutes min. in both French and English everyday. I'm letting kidlet #2 off easy today, as this book is much too simple for her.

Maybe it's not a good idea chilling with the Russian dolls. They might be looking for a new sister...

Yeah yeah, I know, that aloe plant looks dead. It's really hard to keep anything alive in my apartment.

THe objections to doing homework abound... causing stress for you and your child or children. Here are some ways to ease them into good working habits, and break down some barriers. If you apply some of these rules to yourself, you might find it can help you with some difficult chores as well!

Mom Do I Have to do My Homework?

for my fourth year seminar class on art and fashion theory

Emily's science homework was to bring into school something edible that represented a single cell. She baked sugar cookies and frosted them. The walnut is the nucleus. The chocolate chip is the mitochondria. The licorce is the endoplasmic reticulum. The pepermint piece is a vacuole, and the three nerds are ribosomes.

She loves to bake so she made enough for her whole class.

I had to take a picture of it on Pyrex, of course!

took my daughter Maddie to a national choral performance this week in Oklahoma. She got out of class but she did not get out of homework!

I am one of those "mean" dads.

Multi functioning! Develop Ideas - 'take a photo of self doing homework', set the scene! Explore camera equipment - Tripod. Explore camera controls - self-timer, slow shutter speed, wide angle. Process image - cropped in Photoshop & re-sized. Upload image - Flickr. :-)

Jolene helps me with my fractions because I'm not so good with them.

Today was my first day of my Accounting 1 class. I haven't gone to school in years...but I'm excited. Got lots of homework though.

For the next photography class we have to take 2 portrait shots of either a human or an animal. One of them with a shallow depth of field (ca. f5.6), the other medium to long dof (f8-16).

This here is f5.6.

Liva is a willing model, but never for more than 5 seconds, so that I have no time to check that everything is as and where it should be... (perhaps the eyes ought to be a little higher in the picture?)

Layers and layers of information. It's beginning to smell a bit like an onion.
