One of her homework assignments included doing some fingerpainting. Yeah, that one met with a lot of resistance, you can tell.
I finished it, honestly. :^P
And now the real reason I posted this video: I wanted to tell y'all about my account on Vine! I've had it for a while, and there are even some toy videos, but I didn't think to link to it here before today. X^P Enjoy!

Science Homework: Diffusion Practical - The glass on the left started with clear water, and the glass on the right a coffee solution. Coffee solution was gradually added to the clear water.
You know when you look at the homework sheet you've been given and it literally makes no sense at all?
This is from a stopmotion about homework I was making, but during it my camera developed some pretty huge focusing problems causing me to get really frustrated. The end result was a short, non-smooth, mess of a stopmotion. I don't think I'll bother uploading it! xD

Nicholas is doing his homework, and one part of it includes reading a book. I had my macro lens on my camera for this, that's why it's a bit close. Not the greatest shot but I still like it. I have also changed my watermark, I don't really like these kinds of watermarks that interferes with the image, and will probably only put it on the photos of my children. I am sick of people stealing my photos and ever so often finding them on blogs and webpages where the motive is highly questionable . I'm also furious with flickr who can't do anything about a couple of my photos that were stolen and actually appear right here on flickr, the problem is that they are hidden from public view and only visible to friends and family of this person. A contact of mine ( who had been added as a friend of this thief ) found them and contacted me. He/she copied the location of these two photos of my boys as PDF files so that I could use them when reporting the copyright infringement. The person in question had removed my watermark and put my two images in a folder which he called "exclusive specially pictures". since I can't send flickr the URL to the direct location of the photos they reckon that they can't do anything, and they do not accept or open attachments as a security precaution. So what am I supposed to do? I will post the PDF files to my stream for everyone to see though, just have to get my contacts name of it so he/she doesn't get into trouble.

This is a diptych of a typewriter and a computer. I liked the feeling of old versus new that is commonly explored with diptychs, so I tried to show this in the context of a student's homework. The editing of both photos consists of simple adjustments.

It's usually a battle, but since Teeny came home with her new "Learning Log" (basically a big pink homework book under a new name) it's been less so. Today she had to show she understood non-chronological reports (!?) so she wrote about the Arctic Fox, found some pictures of them on the internet and decorated her page with icicles, which is what she's drawing here.
Another day of not doing much of interest. K took les enfants swimming this morning while I ran. I followed my 10k trainer and managed to cover 12.1k of which i estimate I ran 9k of, so I was pleased. In the afternoon we went to a 5th birthday party which was noisy and not fun. Then home for homework, grocery shopping online and some CBeebies.
Day 182 of 365.
Finny is is Grade 3 this year and the whole approach to homework is quite different to Grade 2 - though reading, naturally, is still a major component.
He's a fantastic reader. He absolutely tears through books. Hand him a new Zac Power, Pokemon or Captain Underpants and he'll finish it that day. I was the same. And I love that he loves books the same way I did as a kid.
