Does it ever end? I don't mind school, much and I normally do very good in it. But for some reason this trimester my grades are piss poor and not as good as normal. Along with my procrastinator level has hugely sky rocketed. I need to kick it into high gear, the end of this trimester is soon and I need decent grades [decent things above a C-] so I do not yet yelled at or worse grounded from the internet. . . but when I have kids it'll be about how much you try and your effort, not some crazy letter grade.
I have put a lot hours in recently watching owls and last night it paid off as this barn owl followed his routine down to a T. Landing on what must be its favourite perch as it has done all weekend. Luckily my camo worked and I managed to get a couple of shots.
On Wednesday (day 2 of Pre-K), the girl came home with homework! And thus, the homework battle has already begun. When she got to the rhyming part of the Scholastic handout (the scent of which took me back to the good ol' days of book orders and kitten posters), she got quite frustrated, leading to a massive tantrum. While she simmered in her room, I came up with all sorts of different ways to help her understand rhyming. But, as it turned out, she must've been contemplating it as well. When she finally came downstairs, she knew just what to do. Atta girl! She even drew lines connecting the sock and the clock (though it looks like she circled the pot, she didn't).

When watching my son doing his homework, it just like looking at myself when I was about his age doing my own homework but in different time and place. At that time I hate doing homework, but without homework how can I understand what I learned before at school. Now I know how my son feel when I told him to finish his homework before going to bed. He he he, someday you will understand, someday.

I've had a bit of the flu, so working from home lets me get real things done and not infect the rest of the office. Ain't the intertubez wonderful?

It's the end of the school year as we know... wait that's not how the song goes. Oh well, it's the final week of school! Summer break here we come!
My daughter’s working hard on some tough maths assignments, after a week of well deserved freedom from school. Although she likes highschool well enough, she realy needed to recupperate from al the hard work she had to do in the first 9 weeks of her new “career”! ;-)
I created my own homework by starting on a project to do a series of interviews with both of my parents (seperated since nearly thirty years). I was inspired by this lovely book. My main motive is to shed some light on parts of my parents past, which are not very well known to me. Especially my father’s family is a blank spot to me. By taping and filming them, while using a laptop, I create some material which could eventually be edited. More importantly I want to make a little Blurb booklet for me and my family, with text and photo’s.
