We discovered in our salad this litlle cute fellow. At the time I had a broken wrist, but I couldn't resist.
I made up a DIY macro studio, with a flash and Kitchen paper towel and took few shoots of the creature. This is my favourite one.
A still life photo, with the light coming from the left side, as used in many of the paintings of Rembrandt.. Nikon D4s ISO 50 f6 1/4 of a second.

Thought I would give some home studio photography a try using a model spitfire, loved making that and painting it.
White Cotton wool and some I sprayed grey against a blue background, a hand held light held above model for lighting.
Later edited in photoshop adding propeller blur

A desert rose consits of minerals that are disolved in water but fill out hollow spaces under the desert, when the water evaporates. Mine were a present from my grandparents from their trip to tunisia
