I've been asked several times whether this was done by some trickery in photoshop - it isn't; just a genuine capture, from the same series as in here:

Don’t you make fun of me!

You old stick-in-the-mud.

Stop taking the mickey!

I didn’t do anything to you, but I will punch you

if you keep having me on like that –

you bet I’ll really punch you!

Have a go at him over there,

the one who’s just sitting there.

That pussy,

just look at him!

Let’s run riot!

You bonehead, don’t even think

you could pull the wool over my eyes!

No? No!

Because if I lay my hands on you

and if you’re taking the piss out of them

they will beat you up, you lout!

Move your fat arse, baby!

EF 135/2 on N7 through Speed Booster (set to f/2, Exif showing 94.5/1.4) usually I'd associate such FL and properties with an extraordinary fine portrait lens, and it seems expectations were more than fulfilled :) !! ---

EF 135/2 on N7 through Speed Booster (set to f/2, Exif showing 94.5/1.4) --- even in subdued light conditions, with dappled sun rays and lots of partial shadows, shooting this setup at f/1.4 necessitated that a large CPL was mounted on the lens all the time (luckily I have the very thin, Hoya Pro 77mm CPL, which doesn't degrade IQ; previous attempt to use the ND2 - ND16 Fader resulted in a horrible lack of resolution = images were always soft, no matter how much did I try to find a critical focus position): the N7 shortest SS of 1/4000 sec. was still way too long without the CPL ---

The lipstick on his collar

The clock has ticked eleven and the place is clear

Reality is kicking in and so is my beer

I don't make excuses when it's all my fault

If a heart is made of money he's cleaned out my vault

I feel a little wounded and it isn't fair

To sit inside a parlour and see him standing over there

As smug as a robber that a cop can't catch

The lipstick on his collar doesn't seem to match mine

(Mine, doesn't seem to match mine, mine)

Now Joe behind the bar is offering advice

Cause I'm a broken record and he has to tell me twice

Why don't I understand that he just can't change

I wanna be his woman not his weekend dame

Now Joe has eyes a'rollin' says it's just too bad

And he'll be back tomorrow for my heartbeat crash

I'd like to say goodbye, but hello is the match

Though the lipstick on his collar never seems to match mine

(Never seem to match, mine ooh, never seem to match)

This line is disconnected

(Mine, oohohohooh, match mine, yeah hey yeah)

Can you tell I went a little wild in the "container" store?

This variety of Limacodid caterpillar closely resembles the more common "Bullseye" variety (see them HERE) and is presumably of the same or related genus.

View my other images of Limacodid caterpillars from China in my photostream, HERE.

I have given each individual variety of Limacodid larvae a descriptive superhero-style name in the title of the image. This species has the name "Hole-in-one". This is for my own reference mainly because practically none of these caterpillars are identified (maybe even ever formally) and this will allow me to group the growing number of images I have into their like-kinds including the various instars I have captured. The names are included as tags.

Enhance Golf course is a 18 holes Robert Trent Jr. signature Golf Course and not an easy golf course to play :). The structure that you see is the Crowne Plaza Shanghai Anting hotel it is located just beside the Golf course.

hole in one happy

Amarilla golf - Fanny Forsdik

NASA image release May 21, 2010.

A house-sized boulder (10 m diameter) rolled down-hill, scoring a hole in one (~60 m diameter crater)! Portion of LROC NAC M122597190L, image width is 500 m across.

Golf-enthusiasts might look at today's image and say, "Wow, that boulder sure looks like a hole in one!" Boulders like this are incredible because we can determine where the boulder came from by back-tracking along the boulder trail. In fact, Apollo 17 Astronauts Schmitt and Cernan sampled a large boulder at Station 6, and because scientists were able to trace the original position of this boulder using its boulder trail, we can infer what the composition of the rocks up-slope may be.

In this case, the boulder trail curves abruptly as the boulder approached its final resting place. What might have caused this boulder to deviate from its straight, downward course? You can see the boulder trail intersects a crater rim as the local slope was flattening out. As the boulder was slowing, it encountered a new steep slope on its right, thus turning it into the crater.

Boulders fall from high elevations to lower ones because of gravity after being knocked loose by small impacts or moonquakes. Changes in slope can stop boulders; when a steep slope (like that of a crater wall) suddenly shallows, the boulder may not have enough inertia to continue moving. Inertia, or Newton's First Law of Motion, describes an object's resistance to change in velocity. So, a boulder will continue to move until something changes its speed or direction.
