For Flicker Friday #Crime
For six word story.
Covers of forgotten 1940s genre crime novels with titles like' This Man is Death', 'Daughters of Shame’ and, shown here, from my own collection, 'Don’t Scare Easy' are bringing unexpected high prices at auction. A collection valued around £4,000 fetched £26,829 recently.
Mainly published by the Kaye brothers - Bernard & Alfred - between 1949 and 1954, the books were judged obscene at the Old Bailey - the Kayes were jailed and two of their authors heavily fined.
Leonard Percy Gard, the artist responsible for many of these lurid covers was acquitted when he proved he did them before the books were even written.
Gard drew for Hank Jansen - one of the genre’s most famous authors - this was a pseudonym for Steve Francis and almost certainly Ace Capelli.
Called wall-to-wall sleaze’ and ‘a cross between the superb and the crass’, the covers are still evocative of this post-war style - though readers might be disappointed to find that the stuff inside is tamer than Mills & Boon now.
Hey friends. I hate to sound melodramatic, but it's time for me to change some things. Flickr has started to take up way too much of my time. I spent hours yesterday just trying to catch up with contacts and people who've commented on my stream. I just can't do it all anymore. I've got too much going on right now to spend that much time on flickr.
I love flickr and the community, and I'm not planning on stopping my use of the site. But I am going to have to cut way back.
I'm no longer going to be able to reply to every comment and respond to every new contact notification. I've culled my list of contacts way down.
My sincere apologies to anyone who might be offended or upset by these changes. I've done my very best to be a good community member, but I just don't have the time to operate the way I used to. I hope you'll understand.

Por ser escuro, ou talvez por ser mais novo; não apresenta os problemas de cobretura, manchas, etc. que meus outros Hits tem.

Eu usei esmaltes nesse meio-tempo, mas, né? Mostrar é outro departamento haha.
Enfim, eu NÃO tinha esse 612. Eu comprei ele no sábado e passei no mesmo dia! Sei que parece com o fake lá da Alice e pananan, mas eu nem passei pcausa disso.
Aliás, acho que esse filme é um atrai-poser dos carai (opa foi mal o termo), então eu só vou assistir daqui a umas 2 ou 3 semanas (até pq, eu quero ver em IMAX 3D, então só tem ingresso pra essas épocas haha).

One of 2 cuckoo shots where the camera/lens combo managed to focus. I was panning on a very blurred view as the the bird hurtled past and this image was at the very edge of the frame - how it focused I have no idea. For the outlay it's a great combo and a lot of fun to use. Because of its position in the frame I've had to go with this vertical crop.
I think they're such a beautiful bird and I'm really pleased with this - not saying it's anything special just that I really want to get some good cuckoo shots and this is heading there.
Pressing L is about as far as it can go.
DOG LOVER.

There are two types of people who are animal lovers.
.
Type-1: (THE DOG PARENT)
1. Get a super expensive dog from a kennel.
2. Spend bucket loads of money on the dog.
3. Hire a trainer to teach the dog to sit nd shit
4. Click wonderful pictures of it in various cute angles
5. Post it on insta & other social platforms and become famous
6. Detest the strays.
7. Doesn't let his / her dog to even get near one, and if a stray innocently comes to play with your dog.. You say, 'Oh no you don't' and hit the stray with a rock.
8. Spend thousands on your dog food, but wouldn't spend 10 bucks for a biscuit packet when ur having tea outside to feed the strays.
9. If at all u decide to play with the strays.. U ll touch them with the tip of your finger, take bucket load of pics, rush back home to wash your hands.. Whereas u don't mind kissing ur dogs tongue which has been in every place of its body..
10. And u d call yourself a proud dog parent and a dog lover.

Type-2: (THE DOG LOVER)
1. You adopt a dog which is craving for love nd care.
2. You care for it, nurture it, feed it and love the poor lil thing.
3. You teach it by actually talking to it. And the dog actually starts understanding your language.
4. Click wonderful pictures of it in various cute angles
5. Post it on insta & other social platforms and become famous
6. You love any dog that passes by you.
7. You basically become their pide piper and they can really sense the love and they blindly follow you.
8. You feed them whenever and wherever with whatever you have
9. You play with the strays as if you are their master and give them the same love you give your dog.
10. Now the world calls you a dog lover!!

I'm a member of the non-profit society, The Barbados Photographic Society. Part of our activities for members includes having field trips for members to go around the island exploring. Sometimes, our field trips veer off into strange territory....
After I ended my short documentary series on the "Fire at Mangrove Pond", my friend and I headed off to our second location. My photography club had an invite and a challenge from one of our members to shoot within his backyard compound. Such a small space but rather rewarding. I was trying to do two thing at once: Shooting still abstracts and shooting video to practice my technique.
Let's get back to rough textures.I just happened to be scouting around back making a closing portion of my wind video when I noticed that the sun had climbed high enough to be hitting this highly textured object. I'm sure you can tell what it is. What does it remind of?
Fun Fact: This image went from one texture to another when someone ordered a canvas print version from me.

So I really made this scene because as you know, around this time of year most of us go back to school. I will definitely posting but not as frequently, maybe 1 time a week, which is still fine but I just wanted to clarify that. Anyway I hope you enjoy this little scene, it is not much though.

With the snow flakes still flying, CEFX 1025 and it's eastbound Potash train hit the snow piles at Gifford Road crossing. CP 8620 does the mid train DPU duties.
