I have no idea what this hummingbird is doing, but it sure looks like it fell off the perch! Normally I wouldn't include the feeder in the photograph, but this time I couldn't resist.

Life too hard? Hit the road. I really wanted to, but its a private road that leads down to the river so I had to refrain. To old to go to jail. ;) The covid 19 is affecting so many peoples behavior I avoid them like they are the plague. I prefer solitude.
I am taking a break from SL for a while, I let my temper get the better of me and did something I will always regret, Thanks to all my friends and followers, its been a blast. Thank you to Chase for the last year and I am sorry. Thanks to other people that have been a special part of my life, you know who you are. I am not sure if or when I will be back, keep sl fun. Love and best wishes Rachel Swallows-Stone XXXX
This warming female cardinal is undoubtedly dreaming of better days ahead since a late-season arctic blast sent temperatures plummeting to about the coldest we've seen all winter last night. Sheltered valleys here in Winneshiek County hit -18 F early this morning.
The museum was founded in October 1983 in Toronto at Exhibition Place and later moved to Ontario Place theme park.
In 1994, it moved to St. Marys, Ontario.
The Hall of Fame and Museum is dedicated to preserving Canada's baseball heritage which dates back to June 4, 1838, when a game which very closely resembled today's game of baseball was played in Beachville, Ontario.
The Hall gained some major attention when Pete Rose became eligible for election for earning his 4,000th MLB hit while playing with the Montreal Expos in 1984, however Rose has yet to be elected to the Hall.

for a brief time at the beginning of the 1900s, the word ‘jackpot’ was associated with misfortune, hardship or being in trouble with the law
in his book, the cowboy, philip rollins used the phrase jackpot as an expression to signify a perplexing situation
in 1941, agnes morley cleaveland used the term in her book, no life for a lady...one of the characters needed to get “out of a jackpot”

God's given us years of happiness here
Now we must part
And as the angels come and call for you
The pains of grief tug at my heart
Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey
Oh the days will be empty
The nights so long without you my love
And when god calls for you I'm left alone
But we will meet in heaven above
Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey
Fond memories I'll keep of happy ways
That on earth we trod
And when I come we will walk hand in hand
As one in heaven in the family of god
Oh my darling
My darling
My heart breaks as you take your long journey
Give your gal/fella a big hug. Take your kids somewhere fun. Time is the most valuable, and scarcest, resource you'll ever have. Make the most of it. You're not promised tomorrow.

It was nice to see some bats flitting around me as I walked down to the stream before sunrise this morning. I struggled to find strong images, but did quite like this one, taken as some of the trees started to be hit by the early sun.
About 45 minutes before daybreak with passing clouds being hit by moonlight, and the ground under that moonlight. It was quite amazing to be out there in the peaceful morning as the land came to life under that light.
Activity was ramping up in the sea wall as the breeding season got underway

The moon was extremely high and bright that night and the incident in the capture looks a bit violent to me so I named it "Hit", but I had two alternative titles too: "Ouch" and "Shot". Not very romantic:( :)
Last stop on our beach hop, Grid Tumbler...Lilly's beach. We hit a air pocket and I barely was able to hold on until we got to shore, whew.
By the look of his mud-tipped bill, I'd say this ruddy duck hit bottom. I guess that's to be expected. From what I read they dive to the bottom of a pond and filter mud through some plates in their bill to get at aquatic invertebrates, plant matter and the like. Not sure I fully grasp the physical mechanism for this filtering process. Back to this guy. He'll need to clean that mud off - that ridiculously blue bill is there to attract the ladies during the breeding season (which is now)
