Britton Hill at Lakewood Park in Walton County, Florida, is the highest natural elevation (345') in the Sunshine State. This snapshot was taken on Thursday morning, 17 February 2011.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – North Carolina National Guard Soldiers from B Battery 5th Battalion, 113th Field Artillery Regiment hold farewell ceremony here today before departing the state in preparation for peacekeeping duty in the Sinai. The unit will observe and report on compliance with the 1979 peace accord between Israel and Egypt. Prior to departing the United States, the Battalion will train at Camp Atterbury, Ind. The unit will leave the country in early December and will return to North Carolina in September of 2013. This is the benchmark marking the highest point in Pennsylvania.
Mount Davis is located in the Forbes State Forest south of Somerset near the town of Meyersdale. There are hiking trails to the top, but one can also drive to the summit and take a short walk to the summit benchmark and the observation tower.
The highpoint is on top of a "sorted stone," a unique phenomenon at the top of the mountain. Frosts pushed the underlying sandstone boulders to the surface.

The summit of Mauna Kea is 13,803 feet / 4,207 meters above sea level. Tours make it to the summit for spectacular photography, observatory tours, and stargazing in the clearest skies around. If you ask, they'll point you to the path for the summit.
This is my 34th state highpoint / 76th county highpoint.
