The highest point in Iowa was maintained by Merrill and Donna Sterler for years. Sadly, Merrill passed away a few months ago, and Donna has moved into town. Access to the point is still available, though, and Donna is negotiating with the county for purchase of the area so access will always be available.
It can be kind of confusing, but while the whole mountain is called Katahdin, the actuall highpoint is referred to as Baxter Peak. This view is looking northwest -- the nearer bodies of water you can see are the Basin Ponds.
Mount Marcy is the highest point in the Adirondacks and in New York State. It was an ordeal for me to climb, but I managed to make it. It's over 5300 feet above sea level and the shortest climb is over a 7 mile hike with over 3300 feet of elevation gain.
Jerimoth Hill, at 812 feet, is the highest point in Rhode Island. It is also a very storied highpoint, as the owner of the property next to it for many years discouraged people from visiting it. With a gun. Lately, though, the Highpointers club came to agreements with the new owners and built a trail through the Rhode Island woods to it. It's open daily from 8 to 4.

Racers started from Capitol Hill in two minute intervals to race the clock around the course. The first two stops were in West Seattle at High Point and Charlestown.

A coal company owns the summit of Black Mountain, the highest point in Kentucky. It's a utilitarian highpoint, similar to Mississippi's, in that there's many towers, wires, and tech sheds at the site. To visit this highpoint a waiver has to be signed and sent to the coal company.
This point is 4145 feet above sea level.
This route comes at Mt. Katahdin from the east. You don't have to ask -- we did NOT go this way. Our friend Ed did, and he is now my hero. If you look closely, you can see little tiny hikers, balanced on the edge of the knife. I get kind of queasy just thinking about it.
The highest point in Delaware is pretty close to this sign. The point is also on private property and there's no visiting arrangements with the owner, so this counts.
This is my fifth highpoint, which makes me eligible for the club patch! Wahoo!
