My eldest daughter, Catherine, on her prom day. By pure coincidence, I took this picture just at the same time when a professional photographer pressed his shutter. His external flash units produced this wonderful over-exposed effect on my humble point-and-shoot... How about that? (No Photoshop)
(No Photoshop).

This is an infrared image taken last month at Santee Lakes. It had all of the elements I look for when shooting infrared - sky, clouds, water and sunlit vegetation.
I've been taking infrared images for at least 12 years with a total of 3 different cameras. It's much easier to take infrared images digitally that it was in the film days. If you like this look, I have an album of infrared photographs, cleverly titled Infrared.

Went to Bexhill today (sorry Mandy Willard) and ended up at Manor Barn. It was such a bright day with lots of contrast.
This is the result of my playing again with how to frame this high-contrast photo. I like the "minimalist-dramatic result. With just two main compositional elements, Double Play* is an alternate crop to my just-previous crop of this photo. That one has 3 main elements in it, and I called it Triple Play.

* A double play is a common one in the game of baseball. In professional baseball, almost every 9-inning game includes at least one double play. If you don't know what a double play is, and want to know more, see:
