Decided to convert all these to mostly B&W for the challenge because they just didn't work for me with color. Wish the peacock I did for fun last week was in this weeks challenge timeline though.
As soon as I saw this composition looking into the setting sun, I thought of a high contrast photo with the pelicans sitting on each of the pilings silhouetted against a bright sky. After loading the photo into my computer I converted it to black and white and cropped it to a wide format. I went primarily to shoot the sunset and came away with something totally different, at least on this image. I shot the photo handheld at 1/2 second using the internal ND feature built into the E-M1x.
I just loved the way this flag seemed to smile :)
The next few months are going to be very busy for me, and I'm afraid that my Flickr time is going to be reduced by quite a bit. I'll come by when I can, but I won't have a lot of spare time.

This is an infrared image that I mainly posted because I wanted an excuse to use this title. The balloon is an overpriced attraction at the Wild Animal Park in Escondido. The lagoon is an artificial one at the same park which is part of the San Diego Zoo.

this one was a controversial choice for Pad, controversy being should I go for oh so very picturesque river landscape , nicely shot and everything, or should I not, you know , proper conundrum ..
.. no not really, in my book the river one, be it pretty as a picture, doesn't hold a candle to this out of focus fiasco which I like a lot
