This is my first attempt to shoot a real model from my lighting class. The model - Tez - is really helpful and really know what to do - without us telling her much. This setup is a high key setup, 2 lights lighting the background, softbox from her right, reflector on her left.

Section 2 of The High Line just opened a few days ago between 20th and 30th streets in Manhattan. The High Line is an elevated park that was made from an old freight railroad that ran above the streets of New York City. The elevated High Line removed the dangerous freight trains from the streets of Manhattan. More about The High Line.
Closeup of fishie faces as they worry about the scary , unaccustomed light in the sky on a rare sunny day. For animals without eyebrows or ears, they sure do manage to express emotion.
An orange paintball hits a flexible frog.
It is always interesting trying to figure out the timing of these impacts.
Past a certain point, it is just trial and error.
And the composition is even more guess work.
Just have to shoot a lot of stuff and pick the best.
On Saturday, April 30, the Canons Regular of St. John Cantius Visited the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in La Crosse, WI, to conduct a one-day Sancta Missa Workshop for the Laity. The subject of the Workshop was the participation of the faithful in the Extraordinary Form of the Mass. Close to a hundred participated in the Workshop as well as in the High Mass which was celebrated in the beautiful Shrine Church. We thank all who were present, and may Our Lady bless as the Franciscans of the Immaculate for their hospitality!
The December light was filtered with high clouds today. Perfect for black and white images, and this one....
ODC-Up High
I decided to take a selfie this morning. That's me staring up at the skylight in my dining room. My home has high ceilings and several skylights! This is typical of flat roofed homes in the southwestern US. This ceiling is a good 8 1/2 feet above me.
