“Gli scampi davano soddisfazione, ora se ne trovano sempre meno. Il tonno è il più difficile perché lotta fino alla fine, mentre la spigola è la più intelligente e furba. Non la trovi mai nelle reti. Ah, e poi c’è l’alice. Quest’anno c’è stata una buonissima annata di alici, tanto da attirare molti pescherecci, addirittura dalla costiera napoletana. Le alici sono intelligenti, hanno deciso di soggiornare qui da noi, dove il mare è pulito. Sulle nostre spiagge fiorisce anche il giglio di mare, che è molto bello e pregiato.
Noi l’avevamo individuato molti anni fa: avevamo chiesto allo Stato una concessione di 1500 metri, dove abbiamo realizzato una riserva naturale. La cosa divertente – si fa per dire – è che noi paghiamo allo Stato un canone di non poche lire per mantenere questa riserva... l’Italia è un paese di matti. ”
Vassallo: ricchezza è luogo dove si vive
Angelo Vassallo, il sindaco pescatore del comune di Pollica, è stato ucciso mentre tornava a casa in macchina; uno o due sicari gli hanno sparato nove colpi che lo hanno colpito alla testa, alla gola, al torace. In Italia accade ancora che un amministratore pubblico a cui è caro il destino della sua terra e della sua gente e che agisce secondo la legge, cioè secondo quei principi e quelle regole che dovrebbero essere condivise da tutti i cittadini, venga ammazzato perché taccia. Se “l'eredità non è mai un dato acquisito, ma sempre un compito” a noi rimane un compito gravoso: aver cura del nostro territorio, anche di un piccolo giglio che fiorisca vicino al mare, e aver cura di rispettare le regole ci siamo dati per poter vivere in una società civile. Nonostante questo dovrebbe essere il fondamento di una democrazia in Italia chi afferma questo principio con il suo agire quotidiano, e non solo con le vuote parole che riempono gli spot in stile TG1, rischia di essere ammazzato per strada.

Just a fun shot for my PK Macro friends...
One of my errands today was to go to a fishing supply store and get some big nasty hooks for a high speed idea.
Didn't try it today, maybe Sunday. If it works its going to be yucky.
I had tried shooting some of the soft plastic fishing lure stuff from this store a year back, with no success.
But these super soft worms hung in a row did work.

Rehearsals for the Ann Arbor Dance Classics 2022 Recital on Saturday June 18th, 2022. Performances were held on Friday June 17th and Saturday June 18th at Saline High School (Saline, Michigan). There were two performances on each day. The students and teachers all wore face masks during rehearsals as a precaution against COVID-19, but were not wearing them for the performance.
March 9, 2018 We had our second “NorEaster” in less than a week (On March 7, 2018), and this time there was some snow on the ground. What better of an excuse for taking a late winter walk down the High Line. Once again I was astounded by the amount of new construction work along the west side of Manhattan. It seems as though with each walking tour, the landscape is changed once again. Where there was empty space six months ago, there is now glass and steel rising to the sky. All of Manhattan’s west side is experiencing a rebirth as the once gritty pier lined, and industrial west side is being changed into office and apartment space for the rich. The High Line seems to be just as crowded during a late winter day as during the height of the summer tourist season. The Hudson River linear park as a favorite place for joggers, dog walkers, and simply getting out for a breath of fresh air, however on an early March day the winds can still be brisk. As one heads south the new World Trade Center complex, continues to rise from the ashes like a glistening Phoenix. This is a great walk to take, perhaps a good distance, but there is much to see along the way.
