These are the feet of my ex-girlfriend. She rarely wear this kind of sandals, but I was happy when she put these sandals on her feet.
You know, there are dolls we aspire to have that we consider holy grails that you MAYBE think one day you can find and then there are dolls you love but accept you'll never have. The original 3 Darius Reids were dolls that - alongside ones like Style Mantra Eden, Great Pretender Lilith, A Brighter Side Kyori and several others - I considered part of that group so Imagine my surprise to find one in a price range I ACTUALLY had the budget for!
His listing was misspelled and thr seller had taken him down once before so I didn't expect to get him but fortune was on my side last week and here he is today!! I would love to say more but I just feel speechless, humbled, grateful and excited to add him to my life.
Welcome Home Mr. Reid!!

I have two pairs of high heels I rarely wear but positively love. I don't wear them often because it makes me tall, and generally brings me eye-to-eye at the least with most of the male species, and it's always nice having to look up at them a little. I pull them out every now and again - I wore these ones, which I've had longer and are just plain black 'court shoes' but took me many hours of agonizing shop trawling to find the perfect pair of, to a party with jeans a few weeks ago. It was nice. The other pair is definitely more gorgeous, brown leather thingamabobs, still plain and same kind of shape but ahh so good, just liked these for this shot better. This didn't work like I wanted, oh well.

Gold Hill today is, in all actuality, a pretty popular spot what with the Lodge (posted) and events, dinners and concerts at the Inn of some repute. This broken down ol wagon is in the outdoors venue. Outdoor concerts are held at the Charles Sawtell venue outdoors. Charlie Swatell was popular in Boulder, Gold Hill and even the Boulder radio station, KGNU. Now that is an unbelievably ECLECTIC station that can be accessed on the web. I once heard a fellow in Japan make a pledge. One day I had to slow as one of the Colorado senators walked across the street from the Inn. I recommend driving slowly up there, at least so you don't hit the end of the street (or the dogs). This rope was hung on the fence near the Sawtell outdoor venue. It kind of sets the stage especially for country folk. I have met many of the players from that era. Maybe Stills, Nash and Young are still polluted under the stand. If they are, they are well preserved. The Caribou Ranch Recording Studio was up the road.
I was starting down Main Street in Gold Hill and I was already running out of time and getting sprinkles on my third recent try. A "lode" of opportunities exist up and down Main but I have limited time until the next round of rain. I expect the historical designation is responsible for most of the ambiance. Gold Hill is a remnant of the oldest Colorado mining days and I caught sight of this shot of the intersection of Lickskillet Gulch Road and Horsfall Street at the main intersection. Horsfall becomes Main. To say Gold Hill tops a mountain ridge is accurate with the road east and west rise while Lickskillet, north, and GoldRun, south to Boulder, drop off the sides of the ridge. If I remember correctly, the Horsfall lode was perhaps the earliest strike in Gold Hill and was responsible for the earliest development. As Wiki puts it: Gold Hill is accessible from nearby Left Hand Canyon Road via Lick Skillet Road, the steepest county road in the United States. It IS safe in first gear IF you have good brakes. The NiWots were father and son Arapaho Indian chieves. Phil [www.flickr.com/photos/boondocks/with/5371371329/] and I investigated what we thought was Gold Hill a few years back but it seems that we barely manage the project.
Gold Hill has lasted for decades through the original gold boom, the second gold boom, the silver boom and its 1893 demonetization and finally the return to reliance on gold mining and processing. It has never completely died and is not accurately, a ghost town. It's history of transportation was a bit tortured considering one route was Lickskillet. I assume most transportation was to and from the Gold Hill Railway Station when the Switzerland Trail rails were laid west on its way to Ward. The steep sides of the canyon originally meant the road up from Boulder had to ascent the canyon. Old Gold Hill still lives on in this century-old mining camp. The narrow gauge route was never built from old Hill Station (see the map). It continued to cling to the foothills above Boulder.

It would have been an easy clean-up if I moved fast, but thawed orange juice is just as sticky as fresh. Luckily I shot chalk after, so all the sticky is sealed under a fresh layer of dust.
Cheers.
High Peak Dennis Dart SLF/Plaxton Pointer 2 T949BNN (514) seen climbing through Harpur Hill as it nears Burlow terminus on the 11:53 186 across Buxton from Fairfield.
The High Peak fleet includes two Darts, these being 514 and S939UAL (535), both of which were donated by the Trent half of the partnership and continue to be used on the Buxton town routes. As with Excel 682 (ex Trent 233) and two Solars, their Trent branding was removed in the weeks leading up to the April 2012 merger and they have been left as such since, other than the belated application of High Peak vinyls in June last year, though I don't think 514 ever carried them. The Darts aren't expected to last much longer and will probably be replaced by Solos before the end of the year.
I picked up a few fallen avocados from the side of the road as targets. This was one.
It's raining today, rather heavy, so no bike ride. I am working on a high power copper cannon that I am hoping will raise the velocity of my projectiles greatly.
We shall see.
Cheers.

Once there was a lovely ghoul
whose heart was sweet and kind
she sewed all day
with no time for play
but for a better unlife she pined.
Her name was Threadarella
she lived with her step sisters three
who were totally catty
and even quite bratty
not nearly as nice as she.
One day Threadarella told them
about her grandest dreams
but they shook their heads
and laughed as they said
"You'll just fall apart at the seams".
