Tuolumme Meadow at Yosemite National Park

High heels found on 25th Feb '19

An out-take from an old project.

Pay attention now.

Rifle fires pellet at razor blade. Blade splits pellet in two. Two halves of pellet wing their way towards a pair of gelatin filled Christmas bulbs.

And timing is set just a little two early.

Although if you look very closely, you can see tiny cracks staring in the light brown bulb as the half pellet just touches the glass surface.

Not that closely, you'll get nose grease on your monitor :-)

Cheers.

High Peak have been quietly modernising their fleet to an almost unrecognisable unit since the last time I was here a few years back, with a good number of new Solo SRs in use these days!!

292 is one of them, seen heading past Buxton War Memorial with a 190 to Shallcross Estate via Peak Dale, Chapel-en-le-Frith and Whaley Bridge.

This is the outfit which I wore to judge the Women's Institute Flower Show, Bake-Off and Sale of Work last Sunday.

I tasted some delicious home-made jams, chutneys and rock cakes - and was given a huge bouquet of flowers to take back to Lyndon Towers. Many of these W.I. ladies have attended one or more of our "Fete Champetre" teas on the lawn, at my stately home. These are events at which my husband and I reach out to the local community, working to bridge the gulf that lies between the aristocracy and the common people - who are, after all, the salt of the earth.

Otherwise, this week I have been very busy in town entertaining gentlemen callers at my escort agency. We have a very important new client, in the shape of Sir Charles Dexter. Those of you who have memories stretching back to the 1980s will doubtless recall Sir Charles and his circle of aristocratic rakehells. They were constantly being written up in the gossip columns, back in the days when Mrs T was Prime Minister.

Well, Sir Charles and his circle are now a little longer in the tooth, and many of them need a little skilled professional help in order to continue to live life to the fullest - which is where I, The Salon, and my wonderful girls come in. Sir Charles has literally dozens of likeminded friends - would-be aristocratic rakes who are now well into their sixties. I think we have established The Salon as their unofficial West End clubhouse!

We are going to be a very busy group of shamelessly wicked ladies!

The iconic HST125 celebrates its 40th Anniversary in 2016. This power car has been painted in a retro-style British rail Inter City livery for GWR and renamed Sir Kenneth Grange in honour of the chief engineer responsible for its development. The HST125 (BR Class 43) remain the fasted diesel powered train ever produced. This is a composite image that brings out the beauty and speed of this magnificent piece of British engineering.
