When this customer asked me to make a cake for her daughter with the theme High School Musical - I just had to do it in a movie reel. She absolutely went nuts over it. The cakes are 6" & 9" vanilla cakes filled with chocolate mousse. The top and the bottoms of the movie reels are cake cirlces covered in fondant and painted with silver luster dust made into a paint. Popcorn, tickets and extra film tape is all fondant. The placque is 50% fondant & 50& gumpaste and edible image. The pictures of the cast are also edible images.

A section of Manhattan’s High Line at 10th Avenue and 16th Street. Between 1934 and 1980 an elevated portion of the New York Central Railroad brought freight trains directly into the Merchants Refrigerating Company Warehouse in Chelsea. The building is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
High Voltage
This was taken in Flagstaff, Arizona on a beautiful fall day. The sky was actually just plain blown out white. The trees are all just yellow so I really enjoyed being able to add a bit of orange to this one and making it look like a storm was on the way.
I slipped and almost fell on several occasions in Vietnam and that was with my fancy Gor-Tex trekking shoes. High heels seem to be the standard wear for Vietnamese women. How they manage to stay on two feet is beyond me.
This was one of my entries in the club's recent photo contest that featured high key shots. Took this while visiting the local zoo and it didn't really matter if I took it in color or black and white. Just had to use a little help from my camera's hi-contrast grainy filter. I really liked how it turned out. So did the club.
Out on the patio, itching for spring. Took my old Summer Slides and put straps on them. What do you think about the transformation?
When compiling my list, I knew she'd be high, but could never find a spot right for her besides this one. Her look is perfect and she is one of the few dolls that looks best in their original look.
In every show or work about high school there's a girl like this: the pretty popular cheerleader who has nothing better to do than boss people around. If she's lucky, down the road she get some development, and even then it's usually fleeting and soon forgotten and we never truly get to know her or her motivations, nor does she ever have true friends.
What i loved about Cleo is that even though she kept herself guarded we learned so much about her from her diary. She may be tough and a bit unfeeling, but she did have compassion and the tiniest bit of humility. Her friendship with Ghoulia kept her grounded when the webisodes made her a one dimensional caricature for the sake of having a villain for the first season.
Thankfully, the nick special marked a change in this portrayal and ironically, it was the first time we saw the actual ghoul under the surface who was queen bee but still cared. And now the webisodes reflect this person. If I could find a complaint, it would be that she's gone a bit too sweet too fast. But when I think it over again, she still retains all the qualities that makes her special in the first place.
