Sent to j_q_adams for an individual swap.
I started this top in February 2010, so nearly 6 years ago. I found out early on I don't like EPP but I really wanted this quilt so I kept at it slowly, and this year changed over to hand sewing which is the only way I could have finished it probably.
The colours here are:
Silk Garden: 274, 246, 88, 47
Kureyon: 196, 199
I'm using the tutorial at Lucy Attic 24 for the hexagons: attic24.typepad.com/weblog/2008/11/hexagon-crochet.html
And the inspiration is from Hello Yarn's Hex Blanket (ravelry link).

these are some of the 5 inch hexagons i've cut out so far, using Echino cotton/linen fabrics. i still have several other fabrics to cut up. at first i was thinking of using a variety of bright solid colors to make the small triangles between the hexagons, but i'm worried that it would look too jumbled. maybe a dark gray for the triangles? i don't know...
I just wanted to make a hexagon, and then there were skulls that got involved... and then I tried photo-editing and I really don't know how to do it and it was awful and now I'm cranky and I give up! The end!
Back side or front, both are interesting and quite different. Other side you can see here. From small hexagons of gorgeous paper painted by Hilli Zenz. Future earrings.
