Found this sawfly on my water barrel behaving very oddly - it had managed to get it's rear legs stuck in some old ground spider web.
I did manage to free it successfully after taking some shots
My hubby assists me around the house in any way he can. In this photo, he is clearing the driveway after a light snowfall so I can go shopping for dinner!

With nearly 150 adults, kids and more than a dozen dogs, the 2017 Hangover Helper in the McKeldin Area of Patapsco Valley State Park was a great success. We welcomed the New Year with unseasonably warm weather, a hilly 5 mile trail with three water crossings, oysters, chili, and great beer. Many thanks to the runners--and walkers--who traveled to celebrate with us. And big thanks to my co-hares Dan Zipper, Howard Wellman, Keith Ramsay and Tom Shank for another great event. Our "I Voted...For Beer" t-shirt was a big hit. And as in past years, our surplus funds will be donated to local charities
i wanna try and do things with my character.
i look at el toro, uwp, and others and see they are always doing something creative with their characters and im having trouble doing stuff like that.
im thinking that giving him arms to put stuff in is a start.
i kinda like short little fat arms for some reason, but i dunno.

Bembix rostrata ('harkwesp' in Dutch) isn't very common. They stock their nests with large flies (including the Tabanidae that were hunting me that day).
No reindeer so In the UK, Santa's helper uses the Royal Mail delivery system to get the gifts there on time.

The grey seal (Halichoerus grypus, meaning "hooked-nosed sea pig") is found on both shores of the North Atlantic Ocean. It is a large seal of the family Phocidae or "true seals". It is the only species classified in the genus Halichoerus. Its name is spelled gray seal in the US; it is also known as Atlantic seal and the horsehead seal.
Many horseshoe crabs die during this mating ritual. They are slow and clumsy and they are easily thrown out by the sea. Once thrown upside down, horseshoe crab often cannot return to the right position and frequently is almost immediately eaten alive by the seagulls and other shorebirds. So if you find one overthrown, don't be afraid and help him/her. They are absolutely harmless and much more peaceful than other animals we consider cute like chipmunks or swans!
